Dear all,
I've found on other forums, some mods for P1, P990, W960 cameras see the text below:
This is my new mod for camera P990i
IMPROVEMENTS:
- Continuous shooting 6 pics (Burst 6, only 4 by default)
- Zoom level up to 400% ( 250 by default)
- seft timer upto 30 secs (20 by default))
- Pics size up to more than 1MB (500 by default)
- Pics quatilty get maximum 100% (90 by default
- Customization shutter sounds vā seft timer sounds
- Auto rename picture to Pict0123...
- Auto rename Video to Vid0456...
( DSC000 by default...)

Improvements:
- Zoom up to 350 %
- Pictures quality increased to 66 - 81 - 96 % in Fine mode
- Customised shutter sound and self timer sound
- Burst 6 mode (6 pics in 1 shot)
In general, picture quality has been improved, even taking pictures at night.
This beta version has not increased the image size yet, due to some errors.
Copy to your C drive as instructed path and DON'T FORGET TO RESTART YOUR PHONE.

P990 camdriver has much more improvements than p1. And another suggestion, it would be great if someones can return the autofocus feature for video recording on the P990 (and P1 if possible)...
removed that feature on latest firmwares...

strizlow...you canīt be serious...the P1 camera mod lets us record qvga video with almost 30fps (doble the normal), and 30% more bitrate

Am a bit of a newbie when it comes to frame rates etc
more frame rates, means more images captured per minute or per second right?
also, in end of video, does he zoom in on stylus or take the phone closer?

Hi everyone!
This is great news! There's just one thing I'd like to see changed on p990: zooming with jog dial. I guess p1 already supports it, but not p990. I don't know whether if this is possible with mods or not, but it would be great.

I wonder why SE would limit the quality of the camera in their devices by software if the hardware is able to do so much better.
this was asked at uiqblog, and am wondering the same thing.

Yes,it's improved.I don't have the pix before and after but I did some pix today and i'll do some tomorrow and see if it's a difference. Video seems a LOT better.

Anyway, I had some issues with this... It didn't want to load the camera properly first, but after 2 restarts it worked... I don't see much difference in pictures at first sight, but will give it a go tomorow when I have some more free time.

@Strizlow800: it seems that the problem is with my memory stick. I set it to save pics on the phone memory and it's working fine. I find the pics much better now. They're sharper and the colors are very vivid.

Oh goodie!!! Gonna mod my P990 right now!
Edit: I've downloaded the files from Rapidshare numerous times, can't seem to be able to extract the P990 camdriver files, P1 and W960 camdrivers extract just fine. It says invalid archive, seems like it's corrupted. Can anyone else confirm this?

My first problem after modding the camera:my video recording and playing isn't smooth.Every 3 seconds or more the camera freezes for a fraction of a second and then moves a bit la fast forward to catch up.Never happened before.Any of you have this?

I've been having that since I bought my P990, it used to be rampant, but subsequent fw updates later, it's significantly less now that autofocus is disabled and occurs only occasionally. Perhaps the P1's increased framerate has something to do with this, just as how they sacrificed P990's sharpness for smoother capture. Something's gotta give mate.

I don't have that problem on my P1i. It works like a charm, and the video quality is way better...
I wonder if we'll ever see camera mods for UIQ phones like we used to have for the K750i and co. in their time

That's what I have. I am planning to do a review to all the mods I put on my phone til now and I'll write about this one,too.I'll put a little movie so you guys can understand better. Not a BIG issues but still,it's annoying.

Hi all, just installed this cam mod and the first thing i noticed was that the video doesn't seem any different...not sure about why that is so because the file size has sure increased. And secondly the video seems to lag behind the sound.
Does anyone else see this? Just video yourself talking and the sound is played first followed by the video....

to be fair guys it is a simple case of copying a txt file into your c directroy. If you are not happy with it you can delete the file and all will be back to normal. Well at least it as for me.

Well, my videos ARE VERY different. Here is the 1st part hastly put together. Video and picture comparisons. If you have the time please download the pictures and study them, they really don't seem so different to me but video DOES.

The video quality is OK as it is with these mods. But the sound and video synchronisation needs to be a little more precise (better). It would be perfect then.
