You can't use POP with standard yahoo mail accounts.

You can try the SE site.
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/w902?lc=nl&cc=nl
They send it to you by SMS.
or try the Yahoo site, it says its possible.

good luck.

Gmail supports IMAP4 and also Push service. I'm using on my K850i.

Here are the manual settings:

For GMail

Account name: Gmail (anyname)

Incoming Server:

Connection Type: IMAP4
Server address: imap.gmail.com
username: your gmail username
password: .......
Encryption: SSL
Port: 993
Connect using: select your working Data account

Outgoing Server:

Server address: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP authentication: Same as IMAP4
Encryption: SSL
Port: 465
Connect using: select your working Data account

Now after u update your inbox for the first time, you'll be poped up with a msg to enable Push On.

p.s. You can also get settings 4 your email account automatically. It asks you to check 4 settings if available when u create a new account.

I have a standard Yahoo account and have POP3 set up ok.

Posted by Timothy_19
how do u set pop3 for yahoo?plz explain further.my phn is sgh-e250,so any idea?

Posted by jcwhite_uk
Just remembered that most networks need you to use their SMTP settings not the SMTP settings of your mail provider (dont worry the emails will still go out as your email address). Try to find your networks SMTP settings.

Posted by Timothy_19
I dnt think i need my operators smtp serves settings.i say this coz i do hav a test email account on my e250.just dial *2767*837836245# on yo e250,n u will get the settings.it works very best,u send n recieve emails thru d messages menu.d dissadvantage is,u dnt know d smtp password, coz its hidden.so u cant change those settings if u hav another phone,i.e. nokia.and everybody who used d number abv,has d same settings as yours.but it works great.

Posted by hihihans
@ buntoo. The Gmail Imap4 & Push works. I've got no idea what was wrong before. Thanks.

Posted by harryville
Ive said it before & Ill say it again....Momail is the one you need!! Works on any phone and takes less than 2 minutes to setup. It has everything, compression/push/multiple email accounts/email junk removal

Posted by buntoo
@hihihans You're welcome

Posted by Timothy_19
Then im lost.what is momail?where can i get it?what a d settings i hav to install to my phn?cheers.

Posted by hihihans
visit
http://www.momail.com/
and find out yourself.

Posted by Timothy_19
Thanks hihihans.ive got dere and requested de settings.however, the activation sms is delaying to my phn.30 min is over, still no sms.may sb,if he or she can,use his own number and send me d details n settings via email to kekemanana@yahoo.com or send m a private mess here in esato.

Posted by dantc702
if you only can access the net through phone then no need for momail i guess.

Posted by Timothy_19
yes,i can access d net thru phn.u mean momail wont give m settings to edit manually on my phn,so that i can send emails thru d messaging menu?i dnt need a web based email.i just want to hav d settings on my phn.

Posted by dantc702
ahhh!! i think aqua knows that too. you can pm him then for that but, why not you try to go to sony ericsson page, i think it has some setting there. just try it i guess.

Posted by Timothy_19
My phn isnt a SE.Its an SGH-E250.it is not supported in the se website.even in the sumsung wapsite,i dint find any help concerning email setup.

Posted by Bheng18
Are those numbers w0rk in any nokia s40 phones?

Posted by brys182
i don't think that code of samsung will work on other fones.,
as what ive experienced, even if you have the same brand name of phone still some codes will not work,
some codes are based on the unit model of the fone...
nyahahaha
feel free to try that samsung code and see if it works on your fone.

The original server you're on is chosen based on your location for faster connection and you're put on another if that one's too full. Allowing manual server choosing would only mean one gets overloaded eventually, or the auto-switch would supersede the manually chosen server. What's the point of implementing a system that would either break a server or offer only the illusion of choice?

Hi,

There is a global email to SMS gateway, that you can use using the format 00+countrycode+mobilenumber@smssturen.com
i.e. 00447811111111@smssturen.com, and put the message in the subject line.

It's described in more detail here: http://sites.google.com/site/emailtosmsgateway/

Dan.

Hey,now I got an email account that allows SMTP,POP and IMAP.What is good about it,is that it allows both SSL and no SSL.It will work for email clients that do not support SSL,like Sumsung phones.
