My best friend has received a number of text messages on her mobile which are not of a nice nature. They are quite sensitive. She has the number becasue they have obviously come by text messages.

I really need to trace the person who is sending the messages otherwise I will lose my best friend and someone I love very much. The authorities have been notified but have not come back with anything.

Is there anyway, the person could be tracked given that she has a number. THis is vey very important to me. Money is no object is there is any equipment that can be used to trace it.

Thank you.

unless the number appears in some phone book then I think you will be reliant on the authorities to come through for you.

As for getting a new phone, that is not neccessary. Her phone company can change her phone number for a small fee and she doesn't even need to get a new SIM card, let alone a new phone. I've had to do this once myself a couple of years back.

It is illegal to trace up, only operators may have the right IF the police ask that ( at least here in belgium ) and btw you can ask to block the specific number

Surely if you have contacted the authorities they can trace it immediatley, that is certainley the case in the UK as they can just contact the operator the phone number is with! [addsig]

Once heard of a web site that allowed you to find where a mobile phone was by the message it sends out to the network aerials every couple of minutes. You could try and find it and you would know what area they live etc call phone and hopefully it would ring when you are near them! Other way phone them and say they have won a competition etc and get address etc

unfortunately those services always require the permission from the person whose mobile you wish to locate

if the number is from a SIM card with subscription or a registered prepaid card you can always try calling a network provider asking who owns the number... if it's a unregistered card, not much you can do, or the provider since they can only trace it to which GSM cell the number has been used not much more...

Im truly very sorry and appologize in advance if I read your request wrong - but im suspecious of nature and I cant help feeling a bit odd and getting a bit suspecious here about your request for help to track down some stranger.

how can you be losing your best friend because of some messages received from an unknown person ? if none of you know who this person is - then I dont understand why your friend should take them so seriously that you should be losing her - or if you really are losing her over some sensitive messages then it would seem that the messages are perhaps true and likely ? and if they really are that sensitive and/or true - then isnt it likely that both your friend and you would actually know (or atleast have a pretty good idea) who is sending them ? it seem highly unlikely that some total stranger should have sensitive information about you that can ruin your relationship relationship with your best friend, and highly unlikely that some stranger would want to do this or even know about your girlfriend if in fact they did somehow stumble on this sensitive information and are strangers to you.

Somehow your story doesnt add up from my view. And I feel a litle surprised that people would want to try and help out here. Especially considering you saying the authorities would/could not.

You could just be some maniac trying to track someone innocent down with bad intend ??? Only imagination limits the posibilities of what that could be.

I sure hope noone helps track down my 12 year old daughter because some stranger gives them a hartbreaking story.

Again please forgive my suspecios mind if your story is true.

hi

i totally see your point and agree with your concerns. The trouble is the content of the texts is only that of which a certain number of ppl knew. I being one of them.

Now she doesnt know who the texts are, and i guess is panicking. therefore i am therefore suspected cuz i had the knowledge. if I cannot prove it wasnt me, then i will lose her.

I totally see your point, but this is a genuine request for help
