I have generated a colour table file which is to be used inconjunction with Photoshop. This file contains the exact 256 colours found in T68.
Click the link below to download (file size 0.7Kb)
http://planet.time.net.my/BukitBintang/arcki/esato/256.act
---------------
Use it to edit your picture with correct colour
I suggest you Search esato under "colour palette" for tips to create perfect pictures for T68
---------------
Load this file into Photoshop you could see the exact colour of your picture in T68 (Same effect as use the button in MYPICTURES called COLOR DITHER)
Here is what you do:
1.Open your jpeg picture file in Photoshop
2.Goto Image- Select Mode-Select Indexed Colour
3.Indexed Colour table will appear
4.Goto Palette- Select Custom-Load "256.act" file(need to remember where you downloaded the file)
5.Click OK
6.Finish

HAHAHA what an idiot u know I meant genius! Doh
Anyway heres a thought:
perhaps the people who run this site could some how implement this colour palette onto the T68 images when they are previewed online so we see exactly how they'll be before spending money and seeing them through wap.
Just a thought..... |

..and maybe the people who upload logos to this site could save us the time and bandwith converting the logos from jpeg
Got a mail from a user a while ago. The user wanted to charge us for his WAP usage. He was not able to view the logos on his phone (on Orange) and wanted us to cover his expenses. :??: I asked him if he usually got a refound from his ISP if he not found what he was looking for on the .net.

So far, I only made family albums to transfer to my T68. They are in sharp colour and Contrast. It can be done easily but it take times perfecting it.
For the best, colour enhancement technique with Photoshop, do this
Hue/Saturation Command
In this picture, the image lacked in mostly color. To fix this, I went to
Image>Adjust>Hue/Saturation. I simply turned up the
Saturation a touch to bring back a little life. To much saturation can
ruin the image, and the more you use will increase the file size too. So
try and keep these things in mind.

Brightness/Contrast Command
Using this feature is a great way to make the dark areas dark and the light areas more lighter and brighter. Go to Image>Adjust>Brightness/Contrast. The trick
is to turn down the Brightness a touch, then up the contrast a bit

Unsharp Mask
When resizing photos down, they can look fuzzy and blurred. Using the Unsharp Mask command is a great choice for sharpening up those small thumbnails. Go to Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask. The setting I have below is the absolute best for this.

Image SizeIt is now time to resize picture to suit T68 screen. Go to Image>Image Size. Picture size should be 101x80 pixel
Indexed Color
Use this feature to convert picture to 256 colours use by T68
Go to Mode>Indexed Color.(This step is the same as doing "Dither Color" in Ericsson "MyPicture" software.)
Go toImage>Mode>Indexed Color. Change setting to
Pallette : Local (adaptive).
Colors : 256.
Forced :Custom > Load ColorTable .
(You may download T68 colour table from my website http://planet.time.net.my/BukitBintang/arcki/esato/256.act
- Best to download to your computer beforehand)
The above picturecontains all 256 colour used by T68.(The T68 colour table was created using the same picture)
Save As
Save picture as GIF file for Irda/Bt transfer to T68. Go to File>Save As. File format setting change to GIF, name it what ever you like.
Done. Ready to upload to your T68

It's all very well enhancing the pictures as you have shown (very much improved) but as soon as you hit Colour Dither the picture inevitably deteriorates and becomes very pixelated for want of a better word. How do you overcome this? (especially bad on backgrounds with flesh-tones).

Hi badger,
If you have carry out the "Indexed Color" step correctly and save it in GIF file. The picture will not deteriorate at all if you do "Colour Dither" the on same picture with "Ericsson MyPicture" software.
Try downloading Colour table file "256.act" and load to the Photoshop "indexed Color" function, you will have the exact colour used by T68.
If done correctly, you are able to see the final colours of your picture on Photoshop as you will see in your T68.

Hi badger,
To overcome "bad on backgrounds with flesh-tones", you need to fiddle with the Hue/Saturation/ Contrast/ Brightness Command. Practice will make perfection. But don't over adjusting it.
It actually took me quite a while to get it correct. I hope this is of some helps to you
Cheers

Why not add this post to the FAQ? Or make it a permanent home here? Contains some very useful information, especially the palette. |

This palette only work for Photoshop
(*.ACT) stands for adobe colour table
If you want to use it on Paint shop, you need to create one colour table with paint shop.
To do this, you may dowload the 256 colours picture in my previous thread, then create one. (The *.act was created using the same picture) |

Thanks All8. Just found this thread and used your 'rainbow' picture to make a T68 palette in Corel PhotoPaint (Open picture, then Color Table ..., Save As ...).
Have a nice photo of the kids waiting for our T68s to arrive today!!! |
