The R7A firmware upgrade has officially been released in service points in the Philippines this week and I was hoping that those who have had the upgrade can post what they think of it in this thread. I have tried search and the answers have been very vague. Please tell us what improvements, if any have you noticed in your phones. Thanks in advance

Will there be any more upgrades after r7a? Is this the final one?

I only upgraded the once so far(r2e>r6a)and there was additions with it ie.colours in mms and mms size limit lifted,so if there is no more big changes like java and polys! he! he!,JUST KIDDING! Then i'll keep me r6a :-)

this topic has been renamed and moved to the software section

improvements:

1. the candidate list bug seems to be gone
2. there seems to be some optimization on WAP overhead as i've got smaller bytes now on data transfer via GPRS

@boyi -I agree with you. upgrade from r2b to r6a was really felt especially with improvements in t9 and MCA25 functionality. @arnoldc -finally an answer from one of our tech gurus, guess that's a good reason to upgrade. @*What about stability? Do your phones hang less now? Come to think of it the r6a was already pretty stable.

@xcellzerotype - had the same problems as you when i still had r2b. All those problems were solved when i upgraded to r6a. Don't know with r7a that's why i started this thread. I think I'll have my upgrade next week.
