i just had my phone upgraded to this firmware. now i noticed a lot of improvements from the R2G firmware, i also now have a problem connecting my PDA to the internet.

WAPping from the phone's okay, but when the palm m505 (and arnoldc tried this on his ipaq with the same results) attemps to connect to the net, it resets the phone.

I'm still gonna find out what's causing the problem. I'm not blaming any device - yet!

GOwin's T39 is ok now. His GPRS settings were apparently screwed by the upgrade. It was just a matter of entering the settings again.

@arnoldc
Thanks for updating them.

@*
The problem was with the fuxored data account. I just deleted the old account, and created a new one.

Worked liked magic. I was probably too excited with the upgrade, and trusted that it turned out smoothly that I didnt check the settings at all.

Anyway, that's a lesson for me.

How long ba magpa-update ng firmware sa Philippines? And where is a good Ericsson service center should I take my T39? I'm planning on going home this coming Christmas kasi. Dito kasi, sa Minneapolis lang merong service center ang Ericsson and it takes at least 2 weeks daw to update it (excluding the mailing time).

@papajames re:FW upgrade
i had it done by smartnet. it took them about 30 minutes to do the job. except for the initial problem i had (see post #1 of this thread) wala pa naman akong ibang naging problema.

3 days sa semicon? hmm... i wonder what those boxes of phone with semicon stickers are doing at the smartnet office?

@dimension
the local service points could upgrade your phone's firmware. what version are you using right now?

@ibaboun

hmm.. so it seems that the problem may be firmware related.

what do you use for device conectivity, IR or cable? i got a modified service/flash cable converted to a data cable, so i wasn't really sure which one is causing the problem.

sorry for the delay, no service since yesterday afternoon. I us external ir adapter through usb, but had reseting without being using it. i think defenitly the problem is related to gprs, but I think it is related to bad RF conditions.

It's not the cable and it's not the network (otherwise i'd hear fellow globe users bitching about it) and it's not the IR too.

So it's either a firmware or a hardware problem.

Hey. I went to the service point and they told me they'd replace the phone but they don't have unit in stock

Somehow, the firmware (or the process) did something to the phone.

Have you seen where the pinoys are at ESATO? Pinoy Chit-Chat and Pinas EB threads

Plenty of aesthetic changes with the current version. Too bad I got problems with it.
