sup guys,
I bought a ericsson T68mc the other day. Found out the hard way it doesnt have any T9. Need the new software to upgrade. I figure May is right around the corner so I'll wait for the new version to come out. Only problem is I don't know where to go for the upgrade. I live in Houston, Tx USA. This phone is not sold here in the states. I had to order it, so I wouldn't know the first place I'd go for an upgrade. Any help would be appreciated.

This har been covered several times, so you can search the forums for more info:the long and short of it is that you have to have your 6tmc flashed to a 68m aefore flashing to 68i. The only two places in the states to flash are in Montana or.,, more later

to continue...I apologize...an important discussion. anyway, it has been noted here that you have to go in the sequence from t68mc to t68m to t68i. Whenever, this happens...who knows...read some of the new posts are people are specualting week 22 to week 26. Not to mention that some people are starting to use obscentites in refernce to the SE people. So, don't hold your breath for the new firmware as the USA will be the last place on earth to see the mms software as we are last place on earth to adopt GSM. Still is a cool country though...lots of pretty women, fast cars, and big, buckin steers |

Well, thanks for the info. Other ppl are saying I can upgrade my 68mc straight to 68i. As far as where to upgrade....If service points are able to DL the new software via EMMA, why couldn't others in the US do the same? Even authorized dealers of Ericsson products should have access to this info, right? whatcha' think? |

Does anyone know if Voicestream will be able to upgrade the T68m? The reason I ask this is because I don't want to send my $400 phone in the mail and I can't stand being apart from my phone. If Voicestream can upgrade my software, I'll just bring it to a local Voicestream store. |

Gotta love Ericsson US. As far as I know there is ONE service point somewhere in the great lakes area that you have to MAIL your phone too. I plan on mailing mine to a friend in the UK to get upgraded.

Exactly. If you guys bothered to call that toll-free number, you will find out that the procedure is to send your phone to the one and only service centre in the U.S., and you will be provided with the address, reference number, etc.
Now how is this worse than sending the phone to someone in UK, who sends it to Ericsson and then back, I don't know. If it is a hardware fault, yes I see the point. For firmware upgrade? |

I dealt with Ericsson US service center once before. I sent in my old T28w for service. Their service is good but the tracking system is bad. I dropped the phone and broke the flipper connection. It was still under warrenty and they fixed it and shipped it back using FedEx o/n service w/o charge. However, when I called to ask for the status before I got my phone back, no one was able to figure out if they ever received my phone.
No I have a question regarding the upgrade. Is it the same upgrade for T68mc and T68m? If the upgrade is available here in US, will I mess the phone up or lose the Chinese language capability?

Hello,
I am new to the T68 and would appreciate some help. I purchase a T68 locally and was told it had been upgraded to a t68i. I do not know if this is true. I have tried to figure this out from the bulliten boards but there is so much information I am having trouble.
My software version says.

Is this a t68m or a t68I or just a plain t68. I paid $500 dollars and I think I may have been taken. It is unlocked though so that is nice. |
