Anyone know how to send background pictures directly from a PC to a T68 using a data cable??
I heard of a program called 'Sendfile' but it seems to have been taken down now.
Surely its not just via WAP! |

Just go to the SonyEricsson website and download all the necessary stuff. You need mobile phone monitor and the MyPictures program. You need to install mobile phone monitor first then MyPictures, if you just install MyPictures without MPM you won't be able to send it through your data cable.
This subject has actually been posted many times within this forum cuz I remember reading about it alot. Do a forum search if what I said was not enough help. |

Download the program called MyPictures and mobile phone monitor from :
http://wap.sonyericssonmobile.com
got to > Software
Choose > T-68
Choose > MyPictures
Download the phonemonitor and the program.
From this program, you can import a picture into the program, and send/upload to phone

I've already installed the 'XTNDConnect PC for Ericsson' which claims to also include MPM, it must do seeing as I sync with outlook(little black phone icon with a tick, in the systray?). I also have installed 'MyPictures' but I don't see any send/upload options |

Does anyone know the difference between DRS-10 and DRS-11?
Ericsson has lousy info on their web sites. |

maybe you have a defective cable...try replacing the cable.
i, too, has correctly installed all my T39 communication software. but it can't detect my phone.
I had the cable replaced & its working perfectly |

its a newer cable...
actually i've been using DRS10 on my T39 & it works perfectly.
The one specified on the t39 catalog is DRS11. |

@cruiser91,
According to Daniel Hertrich, the DRS-10 does not have a DCD (data carrier detect) line. The DRS-11 includes this, aside from using a newer chipset, MAX3386.

so bro, please explain, in layman's term, what is a DCD(data carried detect)? |

DCD, together with DTR (data terminal ready), DSR (data set ready), RTS (request to send) and CTS (clear to send) are handshaking lines. These are used by devices to exchange information about their status (whether or not a device is ready, can send data, can receive data, etc). The need and use depends on the kind of data transmission you run and on the software which handles the transmission. I am not sure if this is good enough.

just a tip.
when using the MyPictures application with a data cable, it is better to "send file to phone" than just simply uploading a picture into a portfolio... the quality reduces if you upload pics from a portfolio rather than sending it directly...
i hope my observation is correct.

our T68 phones has a 256-color only. that's why, if you would notice, high resolution pics loaded on the phone wouldn't be of that good quality compared to the resolution seen on the PC.
