I assume other people have noticed Esato is very slow the last few days and today it is almost dead it seems.

its quite slow getting into threads too but I am finding the slow performance is intermittent although its seems to be slow longer than it is fast

Explorer seems to have less problem of all.. with Netcaptor (Netscape) is it an hell !
I think the problems are coming from servers who are to full of junk thread, all talking about the same!
When will everybody learn to use the search function before asking something who has 20times be answered in the past ; or posting something who has allready being posted in a other thread 2 days before!
So a the servers full of "shit" and going very slowwwwww |

lets not make this a "use the search" bash.. there is not that much more garbage this week than there was last week but there is a big difference in performance on Esato

Even when the forums are hanging, pinging Esato gets (almost) instant reply. I think it's the SQL (database) servers that are having trouble handling the load. Perhaps the database needs to be defragmented/compacted, or maybe split up into more files

The playtime threads are probably not helping the situation either
Fixing the problem can be as easy as adding another disc subsystem, or as hard as upgrading the whole database server (that's assuming it is the database that's at fault here...)

so who's in charge of these servers? laffen himself, or what? if its him, about time for him to come out of hibernation... |
