I recently got a T610 and love it...
but the reception is pretty crap. whenever i call someone it drops to around 2 bars. i took the phone back and got another one but still the same.
is anyone else getting this same prob?
i am with telstra in melbourne and my old siemens reception was way better in the same places |

Reception on T610 is clear and loud even with 1-2 bar........so I would not worry about the reception bar as long as you can make and receive calls ! Since the reception bar on ericsson/sony ericsson do fluctuate more frequently than other phones............

Yeah, my t610 is worse than my SL55 on that point...
A bit dissapointing! But this t610 is so great on other points! |

Well, does the conversations become unclear/distorted? Seems like many ppl are complaining about the number of bars they get, not the quality of the sound. |

Wait! Not me! My teesixten is fine when it comes to reception. I can ever use the gprs even in the lowest point.

I have not had any problems with reception on my T610. It's a bit better than on my T68i I think. |

Hi
A newbie in this great forum
Reports of bad reception keeps me from buying the T610...any other comments....what about the reception inside buildings and in the vicinity of the body???
Thanks |

You have to remember that the "reception bars" is a model specific estimate. On one phone it might be almost impossible to have a conversation with 1 bar, while on another you may not even have any distortion at all. The T610 has good sound quality even on 1 bar reception.

I remember tests performed on the T68i ... when putting your hand on the back of the phone caused the signal to drop |

I tried the hand-over-the-aerial test on an 8310, and it did the same, although you have to wait 5 minutes for the signal strength to update!
I've also made a call (on my T610) and used GPRS on a signal strength of 0 bars! but the call was quite flaky!
But that's when I go visit my parents: They live in the Welsh countryside! Where I live, I get full signal throughout my house.

sometimes the sound distorts when it goes to 1 bar
but its not like its on every phone call. most times its very good.
but the phone still rocks!!!! |
