Hello folks,
I recently upgraded my phone from a Motorola V50 to a T68i and have now started playig about with customising certain aspects such as backgrounds and Ringtones. Anyway this task has been made a bit easier as my brother gave me his old Palm m105 so I could synchronise the phonebook with my PC (builtin IR port on the Palm). Anyway whilst doing this I discovered a piece of software called Tones4All which doesn't seem to be mentioned in this forum but it supports converting RTTL/Nokring tones to many formats including eMelody, iMelody and keypress sequences. I've been using this to put a few custom eMelody ringtones on my phone via the Palm and FunnyPhone. Putting iMelody files on is a little more complex, basically I use Tones4All to create the iMelody file and then use ZBoxZ to transfer this onto my Palm for beaming to my mobile. Anyway I though others may find this info useful. I've listed the software I have tried below and where to get it.
Windows:
Tones4All - http://ringtone.bespin.org converts RTTL to lots of formats including eMelody and iMelody plus gives keypresses
Palm:
FunnyPhone - http://www.funnysoft.org/FunnyPhone.php This is great and the only one that works for me it allows you to beam ringtones and backgounds to T68(i)
ZBoxZ - http://palmboxer.sourceforge.net Copy any file type to a Palm for Beaming etc. Has conduits for Windows, Linux and Macs.
EriTones - http://homepage.mac.com/alvinmok/eritones I haven't had much success with this but in theory it allows you to beam ringtones (eMelody) to and from your phone.
Eringson - http://www.iki.fi/~mvw/eringson.zip Again I haven't had much luck with this but as above its supposed to allow you to beam eMelody ringtones to and from your mobile.
Enjoy,
Morpheus
P.S. GSMTool (new shareware version) and DI27 (Old freeware version) are supposed to allow phonebooks to to be synchronised between Palms. I didn't spend much time looking at these since I had transfered the numbers from my old phones sim and simply wanted to get them to the computer, tidy them up and then beam them all back, so synchronisation wasn't really required.
