Well this was long awaited its very self explanatory basically you enter the person mobile number you are looking for (your girlfriend) and it will track them down to the nearest point (I think thats base station). Oh but guys lets not let the women know about this one, God can you imagine you will be tracked all the days of your lives.........scaryyyyyyyy ..........

p.s costs £1 for 3 searches and is limited

It also says the person being tracked gets a permissions SMS message...

"Once you've signed in successfully start adding contacts by filling in the following fields shown below. Oncea contact is added a Permission SMS is sent to them requesting permission for you to be able to locate them."

So its not all that scary really.

(grin) that same thought occurred to me... whats the point of this service? The only thing I could think of is for companies to keep tabs on where their travelling employees are, assuming they have mobiles supplied by work, to make sure they are where they are supposed to be and not skiving off down the pub or something!

Tracking costs a lot of money. Because of the software and hardware that has been developed often costs a few million $. And then every search costs for the phone company. Thats atleast how it is in sweden.

IT'S NOT FOOLPROOF THOUGH ... cos all you got to do is NOT respond to the REQUEST and then yuo can claim to your family member/company boss ... that you were in an area without signal - or you had your mobile off OR you didn't here the text message tone.

Not 100% foolproof but I can see how on the ODD occasion it MIGHT be of some use - but I hardly see it as a great money making business!

Dont miss the most important thing here, it DOESN'T tell you where the person is.........it only tells you where the persons Sim/Phone is.
If you were an employee, you could just get a mate to take your phone to the place it was meant to be, & OK the search request.
Same as if your Girlfriend was likely to use the system, I always carry 2 phones anyway.

Does anyone know, if you can track a mobile phone number anywhere in Europe?!

If not... That will be the next step!!

@KaSS
Well I know Telia had this "find your friends" campaign. So I guess the security there wasn't all too great. Since you was suppose to lock a nickname to your phone and then when someone sent an sms to some number and "search niklas" or something. You would get an sms back telling where he is. But this was only for Telia Mobile users.

A base covers at least 10km in the city and 30 km in the opened spaces. So the program tells u nuthin..and u have to pay. And what about that sms?i'd refuse it comin from anybody anyway-i am not on probation damn it!
