Ericsson T39m and battery life |

Hello all,
I just bought an Ericsson T39m and I'm really happy about it so far except 1 thing wich worries me.
According to information everywhere, the phone should have a standby-time of approximately 300 hours. So I wanted to check this since there is that handy overview of remaining standby and talk time and I fully charged my phone (for the third time since buying it) when it was turned off. When I put it on again and directly checked how much standby time I had left it displayed that I had only 228 hours left. This was yesterday (23th of April 2002 at exactly 18:00 hours +1.00 GMT) an now (24th of April 2002 at exactly 13:06 hours +1.00 GMT) it shows I've got only 190 hours of standby left. I didn't make a lot of phonecalls or received/sent a lot of messages so I'm really wondering if this gets better in time or if I should ask for a new battery. I know that it also depends on what network you're using (it's a 1800 mhz) but this is a bit extreme (a difference of 72 hours hen fully loaded) from my point of view. I also don't have that wonderword (or whatever it's called in English) option activated nor my IrDa connection enabled and I don't use GPRS...so what's next? get a new battery from the shop or reload some more times and see how it goes?
Thanks in advance for any usefull information provided!

I have shown a stndby time of exactly 300 hours, the only way to accuratley measure the ammount of standby time is to not make ANY calls and (very imprortant) be in a good signal area. The light uses more power than making a call on this phone (the light will go off in a call on auto mode) as it also activates all colours on the screen. Being colour makes it very bad at using power when light is on. |

colours? what colours? It's not some T68 or something. But it's just strange that even when I JUST recharged it and checked it was already 62 hours too low. That just makes no sense...

I don't know if this is relevant, but I find that my status report swings wildly. One minute it will be surprisingly low, then if you wait a few minutes and check again, or open the flip and close and wait a bit, it will go back to a more reasonable (but probably less truthful!!) figure. |
