T39 Battery again,again and again. |

3rd New phone this one is week 02W10.
Full battery charge (battery from phone 2 or phone 3 in either phone) - standby time 75hours in a 5 bar signal area.
What a bloody surprise.
Has anyone got a T39 marked 02W08,02W09,02W10 that actually show and perform as expected with regards to standby time?
It's good to see that suppliers and Sony Ericsson don't think there isn't a problem!
Are a load of recent T39 owners not bothering to complain or am I and a few others just unlucky? If you had bought a Ford Focus and found it did less than 10mpg you'd complain quick enough.
Anyone with a phone manufactured 02W08+ - it's on the back of the phone just above the sim card to the left of the exclamation mark.
email me at
t39battery@hotmail.com
and let me know the week of manufacture and your typical standby time following a full-charge.
I'll post the results.

I think that many doesn't notice the bad standby... a few weeks ago we sent out 10-15 swap units with the bad standby problem (before we got the info about this error), only about 4 of those have we gotten in return for low standby time... |

I'm just curious: Is the standby time only 75 hours, or does the phone just report 75 hours, but the stadby time is in fact longer?
The manual says that the battery needs a couple of recharge cycles before it reaches its maximum capacity, but as far as I can remember, the standby time was somewhere above 200 hrs from the very beginning on my t39. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you the manufacturing date right now, since it has been sent in for repair ,
it's the mic that does not work on my phone. That seems to be the
other major problem with the t39:s. |

Do you really have to start a new topic thread for this? :-l There's already a long one on the same subject.

Standby times are roughly in line with the indicated 75 hours - if you don't use it at all for 12 hours the stndby will reduce by 12 hours. The only leeway is that 0 standby and 0 talk time can mean upto 8 minutes talk time and presumably a couple of hours standby.
The mic problem sounds interesting though. Phone 1 worked well - but everyone keeps telling me to talk louder with phones 2 & 3. Is this the problem you were having?

Exactly that problem. The workaround is to use a handsfree cable,
then there are never any complaints. |

Note other posts. There is a fix on Ericssons servers. It is specifically a standby battery fix NOT a R upgrade. I've had mine flashed and my battery time instanty went from 70 hours to 196. |

Do you have any information on exactly where the fix is on the servers and it's exact name etc...
The service center near me in the UK sais that there are no fixes on the servers but just the latest software version. |

The standbyfix is called T39_Stdby_Fix or something like that, don't remember the exact name... it's found at the same place as the ordinary phone software... this standbyfix is not shown if they run "Update flash" (this command check installed software with the software on the server and then shows which softwares that is available in newer versions) |

T39 phones, manufactured in 02w09, 02w10 and 02w11 has a bug in the standby which results in that it only show up to 70h standby, doesn't matter which battery you use... |

Good Morning
I am new to this site but have found the information contained within it to be very valuable. For the past 5 years I have been a sworn Nokia user, but I recently decided to move over to Ericsson for a change, namely their T39m on UK ORANGE (which I purchased on Saturday).
However, my very first problem is the battery standby. After a full charge the max standby was never above 70/74hrs with 4/6 hrs talktime.
I was about to send the handset back to my supplier, when I cam across this brilliant site and read articles from other users.
The information posted by ESATO users on the battery standby problems was confirmed by my supplier and acknowledged by UK Ericsson Customer Support. Ericsson Customer Services asked me to send my phone to the CELESTICA (ADVANCED Repair Centre) UK for a firmware/software upgrade. I posted it off yesterday and have my fingers crossed.
I'll post an update when I get my phone back.
Regards,
