Hello,

I have just upgraded for T616 from T68i.

I have noticed that the display on T616 have some kind of inaccurate illumination of the display in the right most corner.

Also, I am unable to find the information of how many minutes of talk or standby time are left on the battery charge.

In the service menu, there is no information about the number of time the joystick was used.

There are lots of keys that will guide you to the internet, I am already worried that I'll have to pay some money for using these keys by mistake (if anyone knows how to disable internet --- let me know).

There is no option to select GSM networks (only "New Search" option under "GSM Networks").

If anyone knows how to deal with any of these problems, let me know.

welcome to the U.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is no joystick count on t61x
ther is no remaining talk time like there was by pushing the volume slider on the t68i as well

don't worry when you push up on the joystick and it brings up the internet services screen, you're not connected. the only way to connect is to push the quick connect button on the side or to do it through the menu. just remember to keep your keys locked and you'll have no worries!

Hi.I think u have a prob with ur phone as what u describe can't happen to a brand-new phone.About disabling the wap...if u don't use it, just alter the settings by deleting some infos in it.

oh yeah i forgot about your first problem and overlooked the fact that you're with cingular. just take it in to a cingular service center (it doesn't have to be the one you got the phone from) and show them the problem with the screen. they will exchange it for a new one.

slam: not true... cingular now has an exchange by mail program

on a lighter note... if you don't want net access on your phone then don't subscribe to it... Seems like a simple concept to me, but I could be wrong (not likely)!

That is true. But since I have already subscribed, via Cingular's web-site, and cannot cancel it myself via the web-site, ...

Slam: the mail exchange started on Feb the 2nd

Constantine: where in the cingular network are you... I may be of some assistance as I know someone who works for the company. BY the way, if you want to get the unit swapped, the exchange number for cingular is 1.800.801.1101

Are all T6xx do not report the time left on the battery?

About the screen. It is not apparent that it is bogus, i.e. my relatives cannot tell that it is. Although I noticed that the first second I turned the phone on...

What about GSM Networks menu? Is there any way I can turn it on, and is it always turned off by default?

The gsm network menu seems to work fine for me on my phones... What do you need to get into that for anyways?

I just like to click on it and see the networks I can choose from. Also, I like to see the list of Preferred Networks.
How many submenus do you have under GSM Networks?

All T616's do not show remaining battery. One thing to remember: Cingular did not make the phone. Asked SE to incorportate certain features, yes.

As far as network availabilty, ain't going to see it. The sim and phone will search for the best appropriate network. Cingular GSM, ATT (soon to be owned by Cingular), T-Mobile.

@porterg:

Cingular did not make the phone — half-true. They did customised the firmware...

GMS Networks: I was and still am able to see the Networks and select Preferred Networks with my T68i, but not with T616. The thing I hate about upgrades most is regression...
