Hey just make sure your friend 'John' isn't sending his messages from the net. Some net based txt messages will send the number but T68i will not pick it up as equivalent to a txt message sent from phone. Therefore you will not get your friend's name but instead you will get the number

Yes! I often have that problem! But when I check sometime later, the name is there and not the number! But also have experienced that the number remains, and no name appears!

This is weird.. like first only the phonenumber shows and if I enter the SMS inbox again sometime later(somtime days) the name shows!

bad bug..

guys, try to find out if you have accidentally entered that number twice on your phonebook under different names. the phone won't show the name if you have one number registered to more than one contact in your phonebook. i had that problem before and maybe (just maybe!) this will solve yours.

I have john both in my phone book and sim card, i don't know why this happened sometime, the problem is gone when I restart the phone.

And john always sent directly from their phone, not from the Net

My software version is R2B025, is this the newest?

Dun - then why will the name appear in the SMS later when I enter the inbox, often after I have turned the phone on and off.

I have noticed the same thing as you guys have, sometimes the name appears, sometime it doesn't. BUT I have also had some other problems:

1. If I get an SMS with a number I haven't saved, I have to do that stupid SE way of saving the number. After I have stored the number in "unsaved numbers" sometimes the number in the sms changes into a name from my contact list. This has happened, hmmmm, three times I think.

2. When writing a sms and using the "insert another word" function, the whole screen looks snafu. It looks like several screen images on top of each other.... This happens a lot...

Enter the numbers as +44xxxxxxx in the phone book. Sometimes the phone gets confused when the CLI is passed (which is done as +44xxxxx) and comparing it to 0xxxxxx.
Fixed my problems

Yep this is the sms bug that hit me too,the solution is to get rid of either your phones memory or your sim cards contacts, and thats it
