As I had predicted... Continuos delays in the release of the P800 opened the way to competitors. Take a look at this. It might not be an exceptional phone, but will take market share away from

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/smartphone/hardware/default.asp

The screen in pretty interesting and the phone has SD memory slot... And will actually be released before Christmas.
It might not look very beautiful, but the P800 isn't any better from that point of view.
If it had a touchscreen and I would go for it... But, I will wait until P800 is released and compare. This phone will be much cheaper anyway...

this is a copy of sendo z100, not the P800 first of all, secondly the sendo was introduced in end of 2000, it never made it to production (yet) so this corresponds to appearence of this phone (sendo i mean) even before se was considering plans for a venture, so there definately was no plans for the p800 either
Finally, this phone is so much better... it has 65k screen to start with, it is smaller lighter, sd slot, ms platform to end with, and i know that you all will say it sucks, but look in front of you, i bet 95% is using windows to get to this forum... you can't deny the fact that ms soft is the most customizible with the most apps availible, such phone will become a hit for sure, and i would buy one over a p800 without even looking at p800 first, name one thing that sendo particulary (or even the orange) do not have compared to p800. xcept bt... it has more sophisticated java, web browsing and it has a freaking packet video service for comparison sakes, p800 sucks big time compared to this.. i wish i could get one of these now, just to have it, even a freaking alpha version, but they will get to the stores soon enough to wait..

its a nice phone n'all but if it works like this computer does then i cant imagine how many times we'll all be getting the "view critical update now"box, and what choice do we have when microsoft is the mass market producer of computers(u know what i mean).I'll be surfing this site through linux on my ps2 next year so up urs to bill gate's smashing windows,oh,and it still aint nowhere near as nice looking as the t68/i,whichever colour t68 u choose!!!!!!!!!!!t68i rules!!!!!!!!!!!

fcuk the P800....yeah i said it.

i havent come this far in using mobile phones to start buying bricks again....T68, 8850, T28, 8210, this is the list of handsets i've used recently and im not putting no more slabs in my pocket or round my neck...."but its not that big"....compared to what?...there's definitely a bulge in your pocket.

its already taken more than too long to come to market and wouldve been better if it was just kept secret...but no, they gotta talk about it like its something special....fcuk them and they're non existent phone and serve them right when it fails...too much time and effort on a product thats not even mass market and they wonder why they're losing market share?

2 words for the P800 = "anti-climax"

2 words for SE = "failure inevitable"

only good thing to be said about Ericsson is they were on to a good thing in the form of the T68 just before they joined Sony, hence it was repackaged (T68i) to represent the new joint venture...now its nothing but downhill i'm afraid....i see no lights at the end of this tunnel...i dont even see a decent replacement for my T68 with all the same functions and then some.

way to go Decoy... i support you completely... t68i still is awesome though.

as for the issue with windows based platforms crashing constantly, it is okay, cause you can deal with that, i mean it is easy to fix, if my windows crash i get it up and running back in an hour, so here with the phone i assume it will be same, i guess there will be no need to go to the sp, it will be more like grab a recovery cd and repair it yourself, i can live with that, and also please keep in mind that mobile os is way less complicated than windows, so it should not crash as often, i mean think about it what would actually crash? www browser? outlook or java, i don't think so, so it is pretty much self explanatory
it all depends on what you want, Symbian ( i never used it so i have no idea if its good or not ) or MS, which i trust and like, Linux is a pain in an ass with its not so user friendly interface and the lack of apps supported, so i guess everyone choses his own path, i am sticking with ms, if the chance is given....

You're willing to have a mobile that crashes often and takes an hour to reboot??? Yes, a mobile device is less complicated... but compare the reliability of PocketPC vs Palm or Symbian... Windows is Windows. Easy to use, not reliable... that's how MS makes money..not from the sale of Windows, they make money from after sales support packages that they sell to organizations.

I'm sticking with Symbian or Palm on my mobile device... eats a lot less battery and needs less processing power to run. And besides, I don't want to HAVE to pay MS for extra apps. At least Palm and Symbian have 3rd party devs that give out free apps as well as the paid ones.

MDS, your right on all accounts. But the phone is 2 tall 4 my tastes. Love the P800! If u didnt notice, MS has a habit of abandoning products if less than 95% of the world is using them. Proof? PPC, after making StrongArm cpu's mandatory, Xscale isnt fully supported so its phones now!

What is taking Ericsson so long 2 release the P800? Hope that it isnt 2 big. Still think SD should have been the expansion medium used.
