I don't hate nokia. I merely decided not be yet another consumer - like you, please don't be offended - that goes with the flow. Setting aside nokia edge phones - which have no practical use - and samsung displays, SE are by far the most advanced phones. I've been a SE owner forever and never owned another brand although having tested and played with them extensively. Going back to the SH868 I had a modem embedded in my phone at a time when nokia phones didn't even have an internal battery to keep the time.

ditto. I don't hate any manufacturer in fact. I have had Nokia before and I am sure I will again but right now SE have the phones that I like most both from design and features point of view

I think the high-end nokia phones are very good. It's the low-end phones that deserve all the credit for nokia getting a bad name. The only reason I switched to is because nokia refused to make a decent successor to 8850 (the phone I used several years until I switched to ), and because they refuse to make a phone with *all* features.

I used to use Nokia's too, but then I bought a t68i when it first came out and since owning that phone I can appreciate that SE feature pack their phones more so than any other company.
I looked at many phones that I used for a couple of days each... Nokia 7250i, 3650, Panasonic GD87 and SE t610 and the t610 blew them ALL away so yet again I'm an SE user and if they continue to keep this up I will continue to use SE phones. I'm very happy with my t610
Phones like the 7250i are just fashion products. Nokia make good phones for two purposes... calling and texting. If you want more than that from a phone thay are no longer an option unless you want to carry around a brick. |

I have owned many a nokia phone in the past, and although i must admit that i have never had any real problems with them it just seems to me like the company is beginning produce continuous dressed up versions of their previous back catalogue, for example why is it that every phone they release looks the same as the last one and does virtually the same thing in a slightly different casing. i'm certainly not patriotic to any particular manufacturer but SonyEricsson produce better phones than nokia in my opinion, after all Ericsson were the first to incorporate the bluetooth function in a mobile phone along with bluetooth headsets, now thats innovation.

Well, Nokia is no where beside SE, we have to admit it! The only thing Nokia was good at was making an easy , user friendly software for their phones, and they enormously successed, thats a fact, no doubt about it. Whilst Ericsson (not yet joint with Sony) stood still and their profits continued to drop...
But it is a fact that Nokia also plays a stupid yet sneaky marketing policy, which is done by 'changing the outcase and leaving the rest as is'. I personally think that Nokia did'nt study the principles of marketing very well, as a fact, if a new product is introduced, it must, I say MUST, be COMPLETELY different from the predecessor, not just a case change, by the way, Nokia's prices go up for new phones with new looks NOT new features.
But SE is a different mix altogether, here the most powerful electronic company in the world, Sony, gave some new ideas to Ericsson, AGAIN WE MUST ADMIT THAT ERICSSON WAS A VERY BAD COMPANY IN TERMS OF PROFITS (NO OFFENSE, JUST A LIVING FACT). The result is : new looking phones, yet new features altogether, now SE phones endures more multimedia features, entertainment, better menu system, user friedly somehow, better technology and beter layouts altogether, NOT new looks.
Below are a list of the similar phones from Nokia (Just to strenghthen my viewpoint:
N7650=N3650 (Vid Cam differece)
N3310=N3330 (Wap)
N6610=N7210 (Exactly similar!!)
N9210=N9210i (streming crap)
N8210=8850 (Exactly similar again !!)
Thats what I remember so far, I don't want to be racist, but I think that those slight modifications could've been done to original models instead of putting a new model, or rather, a new 'look' to calibrate such differences.
I think that SE is far more better than Nokia (Not racism, its a fact)
Anyone agreeing with me?!
Cheers!

Does anyone remember when the 8310 first came out, i bought one, what a bug ridden piece of crap. Found out the t39 released at the same time was cheaper, more features, and a better standby. Also bought the 7650 and found my t68 beat it in every way, mms, camera, standby. Thats why i no longer use nokia. My sister has never owned a nokia, and her mobile experience is all the better because of it.

SE phones got it all. They are pretty high tech, good stand by and doesnt cost a million(the price drops pretty fast). Nokia got decent phones, but without bluetooth and the little extra ,i choose SE. I still love my t39.

Hmm.. well I am one of the unfortunate people that had about the SAME problem with every Nokia I owned. At one time or another all the Nokia's I owned started switching themselves off for no apparent reason. The phones were sent to the service centre, coming back supposedly fixed. BS... they would word for 2 weeks and then do the same thing all over again. Another reason why I don't like Nokia is that only their "high-end" phones have all the connectivity and multimedia features the standard SE phones have. And I think there are only 2 or 3 models that offer Bluetooth, colour screen AND Infrared. Quite silly... and then of course there's the whole issue about Nokia releasing 'new' versions of the same phones at astronomical prices.
to Nokia. |
