Samsung T100 - an opinion |

Had a Samsung T100 for a couple of weeks now and I love it. I had initially bought an Ericsson T68 but that was DOA. I was also disappointed with the quality of the buttons on the T68. I realised that i had no use for some of the more advanced features too.
I decided to go for the T100. As I'm not a power user it does everything I could want right now. The colour screen is clear and sharp, and the ringtones are amazing (although some may feel that they're a little quiet).
There's a huge number of tones available on the CD which comes with the T100. The only 'problem' here is that the majority of the tones are versions of classical works (so don't expect Chemical Brothers or Eminem etc.).
I hope someone comes up with a way of converting midi files so they can be uploaded to the phone as ringtones. I wonder if that's possible.
One very minor grumble is that there doesn't appear to be a way of displaying the number of characters used/available when writing a text message (unlike my old Sony J5, which showed the number used).
If you don't need Bluetooth, GPRS etc. then I have no hesitation in recommending the Samsung. |

I want to get one of these for my wife, what games does it have and what is the T9 like, quick enough and better than the T68 at guessing punctuation? Quite a nice looking phone, ih yeah and can you replace the antenna if it breaks off(screw in?). Thanks |

If it was Tri-band, I'd probably get it. |

I find the T100 nice looking for a flip flop phone, but the problem is, it has no bluetooth, no Tri-band (big boobo), and lousy battery life.
Eventually, someones gotta release a phone with 256+ color screen, Tri-band, bluetooth and a good bettery, if they can do that, then we can start comparing it to the T68i

@ orang3:
No problems found here, and yes, the T100 does have a vibra message alert (unlike the call alerts though, you can't have it on vibra and melody)
@ Fingers:
T9 works fine for me ... not much difference between T100 and Sony J5 (IMHO) and much faster than T68 from what I've heard. Only problem I've had was mentioned previously (no character counter)
@ Fingers & Deltayoda:
Battery life is a little poor, although you do get two batteries supplied, a normal one and an extended life one. I've not used the extended life battery yet (a little bulkier than the other, no surprise...). As I don't spend long on calls the battery life is OK for my own circumstances, a quick hour or so charging every 3 days does it for me.....
@ Deltayoda
No Bluetooth, no Tri-band. I know. Personally I don't need them. I know the T68, for example, has many more feautures than the T100 but it does what I want and does it nicely. |
