Hi!
I have a Nokia 6310i and a Bluetooth adapter on USB port. The connection between these 2 devices is OK but when I want to connect to PC Suite 4.81 (delivered with 6310i cd)i see a message like this "Operation Failed: Error Code: 8004320A". When you open "Connection Manager" from "Control Panel" or from PC Suite you have to select Connection type: you have to choose from: cable, IrDa and Bluetooth. When I Choose Bluetooth I see: "Operation Failed: Error Code: 8004320A".
Any ideeas how this problem might be solved?

I'm not sure about the 6310i, but this is the way to do with the 7650.

Open the BT connection between your pc and phone, from the BT program.
Open the mRouter icon on your Pc Suite, and enable the port for communication. The icon changes, once you've enabled the right port.
Then you just open the Pc Suite, and it should be running perfectly.

Check he you got the latest PC suite version for your phone from nokia's website. I had BT problems with the software on the CD that came with the 7650.

Thank you guys for your answers. My software version of Nokia 6310i is 4.07. As soon as posible I'll make a software upgrade (if this could solve my problem).

The error is caused because nokia disabled the sync profile unless you have a nokia bluetooth adaptor ( or socket i beleive), you also get a similar error when you click on the cable icon ( unless you have a nokia cable) Good old nokia making you buy more nokia gear by ensuring that the most usefull part (sync) wont work with non nokia gear....

Amazing the greedyness of Nokia! I was so far happy with their products, but now I will get rid of my Nokia 6310 as soon as possible. I bought a separate Bluetooth USB adapter and could not get it to work with the Nokia PC suite. I have countless times tried to emial Nokia suport for help and explanations, but they don't even have the decency to answer!

Does anyone know if there is a crack or something available so that the Nokia PC suite can work with other Bluetooth devices than the Nokia Bluetooth cards?

Nokia's standards aren't very good - 7650 only supports data transfer - no handsfree

Did anyone ever find a solution to the 8004320A error with the 6310i running the PC connection managerversion 4.82 and a generic bluetooth connection, in my case cambridge silicon radio USB in an IBM T30?

I will bring this up with AT&T, they make $ off of working connections.

Yes, I bought a nokia 6310i just for its bluetooth communication. I wanted to setup the communication with my sony SRX51PA notebook with Bluetooth capabilities and yes.... here same problem.... error code 8004320A.

I'm gonna call Nokia Support tomorrow... if no satisfactory reply I will return the phone to the shop... 15 days money back guarantee if not satisfied .......and I AM NOT SATISFIED AT ALL. (sorry for the shouting... I guess you all know how I feel .... you've been there too I guess....)

I'll have a look at the Sony Ericson tomorrow.... hope it will not be the same story .... anyway I will still have the 15 days money back guarantee....

Well I contacted Nokia European support and it is exactly as mentioned ... one does need the Nokia bluetooth adaptor in order to use the Nokia PC Suite.....
Here is what I think and I do.... Nokia OUT...Sony here I come.

I would say... spread the word... because this is a rip off...selling a bluetooth compatible phone and then make it incompatible by the provided software....
