welcome to the addict club! i was a 7 yr globe subscriber myself and i'm so happy i made the switch!

for those of you still on globe, you must realize that as time goes on, the only sites you will have free access to will be those on the myglobe homepage. it was never gonna be free forever you know...

on addict, almost nothing is free. but then again, i have a good consumable amount to play with.

What's the difference when you switch to smart? You still have to pay!

@ antski

sure you have to pay. but aside from connection speed and reliability, at least in my experience, the difference is the consumable plans on addict.

on globe, for P1200 a month, i would get 350 free SMS. then i would pay for all MMS, and as more and more sites are no longer free, i pay for GPRS usage, or pay an extra P500(!) a month for 2MB free on G-Surf.

on addict, for P1335 a month, i get P550 consumable, which i can use for SMS, MMS, WAP or web GPRS. rates are standard rates of P1/SMS, P5/MMS, P0.25/kb. so with addict, your TOTAL bill comes out lower without having to make tipid on your usage and controlling exactly how you want to use your free allocations.

as for the question on smart's CS, i haven't tried them yet but i imagine them to be no better than globe's. i have learned not to rely on telco CS staff, as more often than not, they don't really know what they're talking about, especially if your question concerns SE handsets! best knowledge resource is still esato!!!

@701, this is regarding the current telco war that goes on in the Phil where the 2 major telcos (Globe Telecom & Smart Communications) and their never ending promo sagas to get people to switch over.

@senninha, wait, I don't get it... I always was under the impression that the 'addict' plans of Smart were COMPLETELY consumable? Like, your entire monthly plan was consumable...you mean that the addict plan goes on top of your existing Smart plan?

its like this, i think,

i have a plan 800 smart, i get consumable 350 text messages and the rest minutes for airtime/calls. if i use gprs, use mms i will be charged as per mms sent and KB used in gprs (P0.50)

now if i swithc to ADDICT 800 i will get consumable 450 pesos(?) for which ever i want (mms, gprs at the rate of P0.25, sms)

i think that's it...

no the P1335 i pay for addict is the whole plan, and no, consumable is not the whole plan but for my plan, P550. but when i was with globe, for P1200 i would get 350 free SMS which i would never completely use up, and get charged for almost all my data usage.

bottom line is that with addict, with my usage pattern (actually i noticed that my data usage has in fact gone up), my total bill is now much lower. plus i get to avail of all those services when i go to the provinces, where before, i wouldn't have any signal at all in many of the places i would go.

@701

actually for my plan which is about US$25 a month, i get 210 free minutes and a little over US$10 consumable via SMS, MMS or GPRS.

FYI, SMS is US$0.018, MMS is US$0.094 and GPRS is US$0.0047/kb.

BTW what is 10x?
