I went into the link and purchased a P800 last monday.
"oh that phone can go on the internet cant it?" I said. "Yes" said the sales assistant (SA fron now on)

me: "how is that charged?"
SA: "out of your minutes, but we got this £4 bundle that will give you unlimited access"
me: "ok ill take that"
me pays £300 for the phone.

So a few days later I called orange and they said that this was not the case and this addon was for WAP usage, and the addon was not even compatable with the phone.

I called The Link back and they said the SA told me WAP and that is what I asked for, which it was not and i got witness (my brother) to the whole sale and what was actually said. Guess they got confused with WAP (some times refered to as the internet) and the real internet, which I find hard, as the link have several TV commercials stating how trained up they are on new handsets!! They said they will not pay for the charges. I took the phone back the next day and got another from CPWH, £168 with trade in on an old phone I had.

Got my bill this morning, £83.58! THE LINK SUCK MY BALLS.

Lets face it all the staff are school kids or leavers who have had 10 minutes training and are only there to sell and make a profit
You ask them any serious questions about the technology behind the phone and their totaly lost, you get more concise info here on this site.

Have never bought anything from The Link but I checked their website before I bought my P800 from Orange. According to them the P800 cannot do voice notes & is not MP3 compatible.

Strange that mine does both these functions isn't it?

Speaking about DSG retail in general, a few days after I bought my P800, an e-mail came in from PC World Business trying to sell the P800 through CPW. It stated in the "features" that the P800 records video clips through the camera. There was also something else in the features that was grossly misleading.

I'd have been a bit p***ed off if I'd bought one for these features and found out they were not on the phone. Surely they should check the facts and get their publicity right ....

I remember when the GX-10 first came out, the Link claimed it had a 32mb MP3 player in it, in there magazine! Even the shop assistants agreed with the mag.

And when I went to see a closeup of the orange SPV just to see what it was like, they would not take no for an answer! I had to empty my pockets to prove i had no money or credit cards on me, and then they said they wanted my current phone number and they would hold it for me for when i came back with relavent details!

What a total bunch of W*NKERS!!!!!!
