I just came from a meeting with a guy from Ericsson Mobility World and he told me that P800successor is on it`s way with many improvements, much thinner and so on. Got nothing to back this up. Let`s wait and see... |

Yeah, and I bet we'll be waiting between 1 and 2 years to actually see it on the shelves. By which time those with a P800 will probably be bored of it and will be selling it on.

:laughs: Hey, calm down dude.
The P800 will still be a great piece of equipment till the 3G phones show up and actually are available everywhere. Even then, I'd still prefer GSM, because of the international network coverage.
I still have my Nokia 3210, and it's about 5 years old now. I think I'll keep the P800 for just as long. |

Another thing: I asked him why they have made that battery cover so large, it has a big gap between battery and cover and he says that larger battery is to be produced, that`s why...

Well he owns a preproductional model since october and his battery lasts less than a day with not so heavy use... He waits for larger (1500mAh, for example) battery too. He also told me that another patch is available (not that audio) but he`s not sure what it does, he will check when he goes home.... |

Ooooo.... lexus... I think we got the same news. Thinner, 320x240 16-bit screen. video/still cam. I heard when they were planning to release it though... but I promised not to tell! hehehehe... let's just say it's a lot sooner than most people would think. |

we've all heard that a million times before. Even if one person told you a release date then it still means nothing, until the whole compay confirms it, and even then it is still not definite with SE!!! |

Do you guys think that the successor will be released in the next 2-3 months???
I am thinking of buying P800 but if there will be a better version soon, I'd wait, cuz I don't want to waste so much money...

@loobian... the P800 isn't for everybody. It's a very specialized device. I see it as a phone/PDA hybrid for users who need SOME PDA functionality. For those who maximize their PDAs (these are the people who can slow down the new NX70 or NZ90 Clies) the P800 will be too limiting for them.
I suggest you try it out first in a shop to see if you really like it, and really need it.
I'm very happy with my P800...but when the new version comes out, I'll upgrade to that one as well... so you see, it really depends on YOUR needs. |

Hi!
I know exactly what P800 offers... I have read a lot of reviews for it, I have worked with it (in the shop), I visit esato 10 times a day, so I am in touch with what happens...
I just would like to have the better version (if there is going to be one)!
The problem is that once I buy P800 I will most probably not be able to sell it so I won't be able to get the successor...
So- any idea when the successor is comming? (at least- will it be in the next 3 months?)
Thanks!

No. It won't be out in 3months. Even prototypes are not relased yet. I am not even mentioning the developer prototypes. It might be on the market in 4,5months but not earlier. Best Regards! Peter
