Sony Ericsson released the low-mid end clamshell models Z530 and the W300 (TFT screen and less internal memory) today. No official press release yet, that I can find.
Z530/W300
Sony Ericsson’s Z530 clamshell is ideal for snap-shot pictures
London, 28th Feb 2006 – The Z530 clamshell camera phone announced today from Sony Ericsson is an affordable, quality finished design with classic appeal. It is an ideal tool to capture, view and share images. The phone has an expandable memory to 1 GB and Bluetooth. Colour options are Chromic Grey, Soft Black and Elegant Red and Style-Up covers are also available.
Taking snapshots while out and about and sharing them instantly with friends and family is a breeze with the Z530. The stills and video camera has 4x digital zoom and shots can be quickly forwarded by MMS. Stored pictures are easy to find with the multi-way thumbnail photo album, as timeline search allows shots to be found according to the date they were taken. Two high quality displays - the Ultra Bright Color 65k display and monochrome 1” sub display on the outer shell – deliver a crisp, clear viewing experience.
Unique for a phone at this price point, the Z530 has a memory expandable to 1 GB by purchasing a Memory Stick Micro (M2), an ultra-small removable media device normally found in highly specified handsets. Connectivity applications such as Bluetooth, USB 2.0 support, standard push-email and full HTML Internet browser also help make the handset the ideal business companion.
The Sony Ericsson Z530 is a Triple Band GPRS clamshell commercially available in grey, red and black and starts shipping during Q2 2006.

The best thing I like is an orange monochrome display. Man it looks good.
I don't want a signature anymore. |

Pity the screens of such poor quality. Really 128*160 should be left to die in low end phones. |

Yes, and those overlapping circular keys don't say a whole lot for it either!

W300 would have been nice if it had at least 1,3mp and better screen.
It does look really nice in black and the orange monocrome screen is really nice ... but the camera is the big downside. Either put in a 1.3mp or skip the camera... |
