When will the latest P1i firmware come to other regions? |

I thought I had flashed my P1i to WG1 when I got it, but SEUS only took it to the second newest firmware, so I am wondering when the latest will come to the other regions?
Can one check what region their phone is on, i.e. WG1? |

For some reason it got removed for WG1 users. No one knows why. If you change your CDA to WG2 with XS++ and then use SEUS, you'll get R9K009.

You need to find your CDA, more - status - scroll down, from the standby screen.
You can then check it against this fairly comprehensive, if not entirely complete list:

AS I just said in the firmware thread, this could mean that there's going to be a new version out fairly soon, it's the only reason I can see to withdraw the firmware from GW1. Have Hope |

How long is a piece of string?
Seriously, no one knows the reason, or if there's a new firmware coming out.

No idea, sorry - it's just a guess anyway. SE have never had any regular pattern to their updates as far as I can see, I just find it all a bit odd at the moment, and the only reason I can think of is that they're fixing something in the firmware. |

It was removed from GW1 for some reason, Robis.

i hope it's not because they discovered a potentially nasty bug on the latest firmware, and we early adopters of it are gonna suffer for it. |

There have been potentially nasty bugs since release.
So I think we can settle for either 1. some control from debug was exposed when it shouldn't. 2. A "potential security breach" (read: our most valued customer thinks that all the porn- surfing in office- hours has absolutely nothing to do with all the junk- mail, and insists it's a security risk). 3. Someone high up noticed there were bugs in the firmware (a highly improbable notion only people called "customers" complain about when wanting things for free), and had some sort of crisis. 4. Someone forced a number of SE employees wear a UIQ phone for an entire day, while suggesting they should try to use some of the functions on it as well, or at least turn it on.
And since it's going to take a few months before the next non- fix, they just pulled the firmware instead of fixing it.
..I mean.. probably.

For the whopping 2.74 of you in the US with this phone, I was able to update mine (CDA 162024/66) to R9K009 - R6G04 using SEUS. So maybe other areas are starting to get the new firmware. |
