Don't know where you got that from. All devices are developed in Tokyo. Lund is only for software now and Beijing is a more like complimentary to Tokyo. No 2013 device has been developed at Beijing or Lund.

But of course all 2013 devices including Togari were first conceived at Lund, and for the most part completed in Tokyo. The first device to be developed entirely from ground up at Tokyo is Honami aka i1.

Does that mean that in Europe, stocks of the Honami could be low post release, just like with the Z as it has to all be shipped from Japan?

I can see Honami is going to upset some people here. There are two groups of people n this thread at the moment, group 1 wants an awesome phone with the best camera a phone has had and group 2 wants a compact camera that can take a phone call and send some texts.

Group 2 has already been fulfilled by XZ, and later Ray 3. If Honami is anything like that, they will be behind competitors again. After all these hype, SMC will not be stupid enough to do this.

I have some more questions on future models:

1) I am also wondering, will there be an overclocked version of Z later this year, similar to arc S and SL?
2) If all models with japanese names (Yuga, Gaga, Dogo) are designed by the Toyko office, Chinese names (HuaShan) are from Beijing and Scandinavic names (Odin) are from Lund, will there be any other devices from anywhere other than Tokyo for H2?

I think you are overestimating the popularity of a camera phone. Pureview 808 sold like crap, some people blame Nokia marketing but N9 was in the same situation and it was outselling the entire Lumia line, Lumia 920 also sold like crap

A number of vocal people want high level cameras and are willing to sacrifice weight size for it, the vast majority of people however want a camera good enough for facebook, its the other qualities they want like screen, sound, size

So if Honami is a 180 gram thick beast im sure the 1 million photography lovers will buy it, but that leaves Sony behind its REAL competitors, Nokia EOS is not a competitor, it wont sell, neither will Samsungs camera phones, thats why its not their flagship but just a sideproject

Ray 3 might not be out until q1 2014, that is if its a flagship, zomg thinks its a mid ranger. Either way it leaves Sony without a flagship for 2H 2013 if they go with your plan. Im still hoping there will be 2 versions, one a pure camera phone, the other a slimmer mainstream flagship with high end materials

If we talk abt sales..then Its Sony..no doubt...

But when Websites compare camera performance...then its Nokia 808 and 920...then comes the others...
This has to change with Honami...Sony have the tech for it...

For me, I believe I would take slimmer over Xenon flash... and for me having a larger battery is much better than wasting space with Xenon flash ( which will include the Xenon it self, electronics and a bulky capacitor )...

While the phone might have interchangeable lens, why not extending this idea to the Xenon flash and make it as optional that can be connected by microUSB and/or 3.5mm audio port...
there should be flash LED as usual.. but if the Xenon flash is used then it will be used.. the LED will be kept for video or to light the scene before taking the actual photo

that external can have it's own battery also so it won't affect the mobile battery life, unless there's no charge in the flash then it can take it's juice from the phone...

Are you soft in the head? Were you dropped as a child? Who said anything about the assembly of the device being in Japan, it will very likely be assembled in China? and do you think where it was made effects global availability?

hint: iPhones are made in China (like almost every mobile in the world) and the US and Europe get them first, China is very often much later down the line for official release of iPhones.

I'm waiting for people to start complaining about the "slower" clock speed being 115Mhz short

I can sense alot of bashing from fanboys imminent at GSMArena and PA

As regards that comment, the fact that you would say that, stands for itself when other people look at your comment.

Ironic, if the country in which the devices are manufactured are not among the very first to get them.

But then again, @randomuser said:

Funny you should mention iPA commenters are mostly idiots. Was posting there for the first time in ages on the 4.2 Z article and saw tsepz there with his usual drama heart attacks, and a bunch of other clowns too. Scary.

I assume the lower clock is due to the minimal increase in speed with the highest one, but more battery.

This xenon debate has got out of hand. Who's up for promoting general neon lights on the phone that you get on advertisement boards?

Imagine if it came in a pattern on the back of togari. Would look good in the dark.

On topic, why is that every year nothing leaks from the rumoured mystery device? A secret team behind its development?
