Indeed! That would be immense! Will Erik Ahlgren (!) be responsible for the new one then? I hope so. Won't look the same with the new keypad layout though, the extra Call and End buttons spoil the original design,. unless its based on the T650 chassis that is.
your hopes and thoughts are shared 100%. Hopefully the Call/End buttons will be ditched in the next-gen Java UI at the latest as they are self explanatory to most users and doing away with them allows more elegant design solutions. The T650 is living proof of that. |

But I need new technology and a good processor. X1 is the only one having it from SE and probably nothing will eclipse it for a loooong time.
The way I see it, higher processing power with WM more or less equals a lower processor with Symbian. In addition, WM devices have always had a battery problem. Let's wait until HTC Touch Pro hits the market, I'm not entirely sure what shape the X1 will be in and with WM7 just around the corner, it makes sense to stick to P1 until 2009.
Ok, BUT 208mHz processor cannot compete in any way with a 528mHz processor in TouchPro/X1. No chance.
But maybe it's good to wait. I still think what to do. |

correct! And only the N95s 330mhz OMAP CPU can compete against it. I can set it as my minimum CPU and i'll be safe. Too bad not plenty of phones to choose these days. But that situation vastly improve in two years. Thanks to the Symbian Foundation!

My thoughts exactly. By H1 2009 when WM7 is announced/released, Id really want to buy an X1 made for that new OS. In other words, what I want is an X1 with WM7 running on it. But Im pretty sure WM7 wont be compatible with the X1 the way it is. Theres no way theyre gonna limit WM to 65k colours this time. Not if theyve chosen apple as their competitor, anyway.
Im also really hoping they do away with the concept of the task manager in its current state of use. Ive never used it before to be honest, but I can say that with any PC running Windows, you only ever NEED to open the task manager when there is a problem. I dont see why it should be any different on the mobile version.
If they can correct those things, keep d-pad use, pretty-up the UI like they apparently plan to do, then I just could not care less for symbian. If they do these things, then to me its a great OS (and it will still be the most powerful there is!). I wanna see what that brings. Its interesting because I think WM7 will be better than Symbian Foundation in most ways, and a whole year before SF is even ready to use.

So everyone wants a Win Mo device but one made by SE then? Well at least you all want to stick with SE. In regards to the CPU's, the more powerful the CPU the more battery juice it uses right? Hence why again the HTC Touch Diamond has another downside, a 900mah battery. They reckon a day or 2 at most useage!!! Compared to the is it 1500mah in the X1?
I was never thinking of the X1 before, but as it's no bigger then the P1 with a slide out keyboard then hmmmmmm. Are se gonna make a smaller X1 without keyboard at all? Or are they going to see how well the reaction to the X1 is and how well it sells first? |

What's with the giant space between the top of the phone and the top of the display? Perhaps another color like darkblue would fit it. |

Hey,
What do you guys think will be 007's new handset in 'Quantum of Solace'?
After all, we have seen Ericsson/Sony Ericsson products in the movies ever since Tomorrow never dies!
