I got the BeiBei proto today, it's freakin awesome!! I do not know why they had to cancel it...
@Phoner
Do you got it from SE? If it's really canceled then why is it still circulated for testing? That should confirm its release outside Europe! Ofcourse i'm after for Paris |

I think the only minus point for beibei is a Videocall camera. If beibei have it i think its a really nice phone

Nah, he got one of the prototypes floating around for sale. That's why he mentioned canceling it. If he got it from SE then it wouldn't be canceled would it?

Seriously Guys, just think - Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Japan step in, and the current Sony Ericsson portfolio is merged with models from SEMCJ (of course with added features such as Bluetooth and the fastport to 'localise' the Japanese handsets)...
That's what I hope. SE Japan isn't really doing too well in Japan [especially with DoComo], but if that means they could allocate some of their resources to SE, just "imagine" what will happen. Once SE International begins to UP their quality and image, Sony might be more confident in allowing SE to use the PSP branding along with other brands.
My point is, SE needs to have SE Japan phone qualities. |

I agree - yes SEMCJ aren't doing too well with DoCoMo, but, they are doing very well with au by KDDI (a recent collaboration with Konami and Metal Gear Solid 4 has sent sales of the W62s sky high).

On top of that, adding the build quality and features of JPN Phones, would outshine even the brightest Nokia - and Zoom in closer than any Samsung. The SO905iCS is mightily impressive, but its SIMlocks disable it severely - as does the lack of Bluetooth, and the heavily locked up Symbian MOAP Operating system. If Shiho (which has seen more input from SEMCJ than any other SEMC product, since the S700i) can come even close to the build quality, materials and performance of the SO905iCS, with which it clearly shares it's genes - SEMC may have just saved their reputation.
If indeed this is true, then there will be only winner at TIPA, and one King this year...and that won't be Nokia, LG, Moto or Samsung.
Sony Alpha.

From the 1st post.
A 2.4" screened, DLNA certified, UIQ based device is planned for this months announcement.
Sounds like a ray of hope to me.

Doesn't sound too high end to me with a 2.4" screen. Come on guys, don't lower your standards so much. A high end phone needs to be at least better than the P990, which even the P1 is not except for the RAM.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

I have to agree there. We arent seeing an unquestionable improvement across the board.

No wonder are reporting poor sales and lower earnings when they seem to be focused on rehashing dozens of low end phones and shoving a Walkman logo on anything to sell it.
The P990 was announced in late 2005. What have Sony Ericsson done since then?
When other vendors are pushing boundaries, what do we get? Product cancellations and more delays.
Where's the uberphone from the Java ONE conference?
Where's the buzz we were hoping for this year?
