@Randomser Isn't he the one who bad-mouthed Xperia Mint(T) even before it was released...???
Yes that's him And I'm afraid he's gonna do the same with Yuga and create negative publicity against Sony Yuga

I know this isn't Soviet Russia, but Eldar won't create negative publicity against the Yuga, the Yuga will create negative publicity against him.
Regarding ST-E, Sony should partner with Ericsson on this one. This is the perfect opportunity!!!

Just a few more posts about Vita OS and then I'll stop with it I think, unless someone makes a topic purely about it.
Someone said that without hardware buttons, it wouldn't be the same. I think that Sony can make the back of the phone touch sensitive and that could maybe work as an r1 and r2 button.
They could also place the camera in a similar position to the Vita so it could play those augmented reality games.
I seriously hope they are developing it throughout 2013.
Yeah I would rather have a separate thread to talk about possibility of vita OS on phones/tablets. Maybe you could make a Vita OS thread and post the link on the this thread?
I would, but if there are true rumours about it next year, due to my busy schedule next year, I wouldn't be able to update it...You can make one! I'd join in on the discussions.
Ok maybe I'll do it. Hopefully people will join in on the discussion. Problem is I'm not that good at updating original posts either lol

Invite him AranhaHunter.
Esato is the biggest Sony mobile oriented forum, so I am sure he'd want to be here.
Yeah, that's gonna have to wait though, apparently he, and a whole bunch of other folks, got banned for calling fat girls....fat lol. He's a little wary though as his posts appeared on pocketgamer or something, he said he might stop posting what he hears from his job. |

Panasonic, Sony Divest Assets: Tech Business Roundup
It does not list what Sony is selling but whatever it is, it is not a good sign.
A few weeks ago there were rumors about Sony selling its battery division. |

@coolkid8689
Only Yuga has digital touch, not Odin. I am not sure what it is though.
@Dacha
They are not selling battery business, but their US HQ building in Manhattan.
@itsjustJOH
Nothing extra really other than what's mentioned already
@topic
Let's forget Eldar, remember what Google developers had to say about Yuga ? That they hadn't seen anything like it. And that does include SGS4 too, so I don't believe SGS4 will overshadow Yuga. Especially when Google is saying so

It's not great to see what people tell me in relative confidence end up splashed onto PhoneArena or other places. It's nice to discuss it here with the rest of GAF, and people here have their sources too which makes the discussion interesting, but when it ends up on popular websites like PhoneArena it's probably better not to.
Anyway, I can still talk about public stuff, or my own opinion on where Sony's direction or what has motivated their decisions.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I can understand, I myself don't appreciate sites like PhoneArena posting articles from rumors they read here.
I'd like to make a humble request to all Esato members/ non members who read this thread frequently. If you truly do love Sony/ Sony Xperia phones, kindly keep the info you read here or anywhere else to yourself. Spreading rumors about upcoming Sony phones on the Internet across blogs or tipping sites like PhoneArena will only make things worse for your beloved Sony. You must remember that when such info reaches ears of competing mobile manufacturers, it could pose a problem for Sony.
So please, do NOT spread rumors on the Internet, especially on popular sites. I need not mention any name, but there are brands who are always looking for opportunity to copy.

So... we're closing this thread then?
Or should we make up crazy new rumors so those websites will look like idiots when they report it? I'll start!
*ahem*
Hey guys! I just heard from a "reliable source" that Sony is in fact not selling its battery business and instead will be developing a smart phone battery that will last an entire month on heavy usage! Plus this source told me in the strictest confidence that the official name of Odin will be Xperia Kaz, in honour of Sonys president. MAKE SURE YOU GUYS DON'T TELL ANYONE |

You don't think places like phonearena have people skimming these threads for rumours? I don't think many here are passing rumours to the blog sites, but rather their writers are here reading.
And, rumours are meant to be spread, do we really want rumours to stop? Do we really want rumours to not be spread? Spreading exciting rumours/leaks helps increase the buzz around the brand and helps ramp up sales and in turn, profits, R&D (assuming reinvestment) better handsets on the next cycle.
They're an important tool that all the big consumer electronics companies use. By not allowing rumours to be spread we are putting a barrier in the way of Sony's progress.
I can understand frustration at mobile news and blog sites not citing their sources correctly and I am all for berating the ones that don't acknowledge their sources. But asking rumours to not be spread is ridiculous.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |
