Sorry to encroach but I got my update on my Z1 Compact. Really liking the UI and smoothness, was worth the wait because I haven't seen any bugs yet. I have to agree with doministry on all his points. There are a couple of themes available that gives the UI some consistency in terms of colours. I'm eagerly waiting for a theme to replace the white menus because it's too bright. |

I just did a camera comparison of my Z2 on 5.0.2 lollipop against my friend's Z2 that's still on 4.4.4.
I did superior auto indoor comparison as the daylight performance was proven to be the same as it was on 4.4.4 only the colour & contrast presentation is somewhat prettier to the eye.
My Z2 on 5.0.2 was shot at ISO 320 & 1/32s shutter speed, whereas my friend's Z2 on 4.4.4 was shot at ISO 250 & 1/32s shutter speed. My verdict: it is quite impressive that the shot from Z2 on lollipop is showing better details, less noise, and better colours despite the fact that it's shot at the higher ISO.

@Faisal2215: Thanks for the comparison.
Are these 100% crops?
Did you upload those samples to the esato gallery?

@Lightspeed_x yep, those are 100% crops. No, I didn't upload to esato samples. Perhaps I would be in the short time, though |

Nice Doministry... Sony seems to be on a roll with the lollipop updates.
Did the update have a change log?.
Have you noticed some improvements?
My Z2 is currently being repaired, but Ill download this firmware as soon as I get it back.-

Improvement or not, but "Close all apps" is back.
Not a feature I ever have used.

@lightspeed_x no change in terms of pixel quality wise. But there's a noticeable improvement in terms of metering and dynamic range.
On 4.4.2, the DR is great
On 4.4.4 and 5.0.2, there's a new metering system called "face metering" but that seemed to cause the overall metering system to blow up highlight area. So I got overexposed pics more often than not.
On .28, the metering system has been improved and the DR is back to what it was on 4.4.2.

@Faisal2215: Thanks for confirming... I'm eagerly waiting for my handset to return from the repair shop to start testing.
I concur with you about face metering, it is (or was) not working right, I ended up changing it to multi or center, because face metering more often than not would just get exposure right in a small part of the picture.
I'm glad things are good in current firmware.
EDIT: Does anyone face the charging issue where the battery does not reach 100% even overnight?.

There might be an issue with 100% charging, but I noticed this maybe once.
It just takes longer from 98% to 100%.
The only annoying thing is the time it takes to delete sms thread, like 3 minutes lol.

Ever since I upgrade my Z2 to lollipop, several emoticons can't be read, anyone know how to fix them? |
