Nice features. Of course some of them are copied from others. I like their word on the NFC features...hehe.....err since 2012.

Just finished setting up and now off out to put the camera through it's paces.
The phone feels great in the hand and really is compact when compared to the full sized Z series phones. The UI is extremely fast and smooth.
The body resists fingerprints a lot better and it is a lot easier to clean, not sure if it has some special coating or not but it feels like it.
It's a real nice colour, mandarin orange, bright and very eye catching, but looks almost dark pink from a distance. It's a great looking device, the smoked plastic edges give it a very distinctive look and overall, it's a typically good Sony effort.

@goldenface
Can you confirm that the back cover is made of glass instead of plastic like Z1C? |

It looks plastic to me. It doesn't look like a glass sheet.

*thought bubble* can you try to scratch it? |

Just tried with a small penknife and it was pretty tough. Didn't manage to scratch with medium pressure. Obviously I didn't want to go all out and stab the thing.

For what it's worth, most reviews I've seen praised the fact that Sony changed plastic backside of Z1c for glass this time. We need someone with both Z1c and Z3c to check this one out
BTW, I really like how it looks up front! Especially the orange/pinkish rim. Really nice looking device. If big 5+inch screen wasn't my priority I'd get Z3c. After few days please report your findings about the battery, I'm curious how many hours of screen time you'll get with mixed day-to-day use.
Have fun with your new toy |

The one with the fountain is impressive, as well as the picture of the boat - really nice colours. |

Yeah, also impressive is from 'screen lock' to 'camera', via the camera button, is less than a second, up to 3/4 a second. This thing is fast!
Battery life so far is phenomenal! I have a couple of high powered chargers so it charges pretty quick too.
The 'bluetooth unlock' feature is good. You can calibrate it so that if your accessory, e.g. my SmartBand, is more than say a metre way, then it will stay locked with a pin, or some other method. otherwise it unlocks with a press of the power button.
The Digital Noise Cancellation is pretty good but it's not as straightforward as the Z2, from what I've found, where you can choose your environment etc. I might be missing something.
Viewing pictures on the phone itself, there is a couple of options - 'X-Reality for mobile' option and a 'Super-vivid mode'. The latter really brings out the 'reds' and 'blues' and is a bit too 'punchy' for my liking, but it's nice to have the option.
What is good is that there is a widget you can place on the home screen, which contains up to four camera modes, which you can customise. This is very handy. Instead of firing up the camera first and choosing a particular mode, e.g. Superior Auto, Manual, Time Shift or Background Defocus, each mode is right there at a click, direct from the home screen via the widget, which is just great!
Coming from the Xperia Z, I do miss the extra screen real estate somewhat, I guess that will take some getting used to.
All in all, I'm pretty pleased. It is a world away from the Xperia Z, although you wouldn't expect it to be, what with there being incremental software tweaks along with each iteration of the series, but yeah, the Z series is evolving nicely.
