you should only notice a difference if the conditions are right for HDR mode.
e.g., when you have a bright area and a dark area in the same frame. you use HDR to get the best exposure for both and blend it into one photo.
Otherwise, HDR won't do much.

That's the problem... Even in contrast situations there is hardly any difference... |

HDR OFF:
HDR ON:
There is some difference in extreme contrast situation. But there are also situations where HDR should make a difference but it didn't. Will experiment with HDR more... |

^looks different to me. the building is much more exposed in the HDR photo as opposed to HDR off. it's actually in line with what i would expect from HDR. results may vary also depending on your camera settings as well.
Perhaps it could be more drastic? but when are the results ever as good as advertised? haha
as you said, probably takes a bit of time to test and determine the best time to use it. HDR shouldn't always be used as it can create worse photos in some cases

It's quite a difference.
Don't expect to get this artsy, unrealistic PC game graphic like pictures you sometimes see on the internet and which are called HDR too. These are extreme examples taken with DSLR's, tripod and such.

@ascariss - we'll find out in 5 days!
@drsoran2 - link fail
@rency - downlloaded the 360 panorama and the motion pic one. haven't really tried them though. but they aren't sony apps, but sony suggested apps. i'll try them later this week and post results. the other ones in that picture didn't look too interesting to me
