The link between SMS capacity and revenue is very simple: If a certain sort of person wants to store over 100 SMS in their mobile phone then they are usally the sort of perosn who send lots of SMS.... therefore if the phone has little capacity to store it is no good for this purpose. Thats the link.
If you buy any Nokia or Samsung it is standard to have a large SMS capacity... Why cant SE do something about this? Is it not easy to convert SMS to able to store on the Memory Stick??

This makes no sense at all. None, none, none. Prove with facts and statistics that there is a link. It is a matter of the storage capacity of the phone, not the operators revenue making ability.

So by all means, supply a study or some supporting documentation to back up your claims.

Exactly. This has nothing to do with operator revenues.

i can store about 200 sms messages... mms are not included in that but the 200 sms are only 1 message long so if one was 2 msgs i would only be able to store 199, this 200 is split between inbox, sent, outbox & drafts... the w800i is the same

saved msgs are stored on the sim card

Some sim cards allow you to store upto 250 messages apart from what you can store in the phone memory. So, all in all, i think that should be enough.

kodanshi, sure no problem:) you should just use google.com and then enter MyphoneExplorer in the bracket and you should get many results. Here is one link you can download it from: http://www.softpedia.com/get/[....]Ericsson/MyPhoneExplorer.shtml
Hope this helps

What do you mean "maximize" If the phone has a limited amount of memory, then you have a limit to the amount of things that can be stored there. It is very simple. It is physics.

what i mean is not to limit SMS to 200 only, make use of the phone memory, if it has 30MB then one can opt to use it for SMS only. no need for physics thingy...
