I am pretty sure they will use Qualcomm chipset , otherwise we wud have had a dual core already .
Dont expect a lot just because OCT will be their 10 yr anniversary.
Maybe a dual core with 8mp + Xenon Flash no 12 no 16mp. it will be way to expensive. |

Can we expect a fourth phone to be announced these days? Because only three devices was announced, and it was said that will be four new phones.
I still hope that will be announced soon a compact phone, with xenon flash not more than 8 mp camera, HVGA screen and for a fovarable price. |

i think they should make more than 8 mp if gonna use xenon flash...at least 12 mp as satio, coz if they still want to use 8 mp, than it will kill their brother, arc, neo, even ray...hope there will be satio android sooner... |

If they would use 12 mp it would be just more expensive, and it wouldn't result better pictures. This would be exactly the way how they would "kill" -as you said- arc, neo, ray. Because all specifications would be the same, the camera better in all aspects, and the price would be horrible high.
A 8 mp (or even 5 mp - but it would sound too low in 2011) camera phone with compact design, and xenon flash would target a completely different segment of customers. Just imagine an Xperia mini with Xenon flash. You will easily realise that this imaginary device would target those, who want a good and performant phone with good, or possibly the best camera in compact size for reasonable price, and it could easily become a bestseller. The arc customers want in contrast a premium category, high-end phone, with premium design, specifications and price of course.
But... my initial question was, if we can expect a further announcment (of a fourth device besides the three announced phones) these days?

Eldar also confirmed that there will be dualcore device towards end of the year.
Eldar also said the X8 will get 2.3. lets hope he's wrong about the dual core and right about the X8

more rumors about Xperia Duo :
-Dualcore 1.4 Ghz
-avilable Q4 2011
MSM8260/8660 can do 1.4GHz DualCore... in fact it can do 1.2 - 1.5GHz...
but I'm not counting on that as this will mean higher power consumption for these chips specially for a mobile phone...

Which is why Duo needs to make an impression. if its just 1 Ghz, then its dead even before launch. If the rumours about 1.4 ghz, 12 mp with xenon flash etc are true, then it's worth it, provided they manage to get it to the market soon

The Nova A9540 from ST-ERICSSON
built in 32nm, uses a dual-core Cortex-A9 running at up to 1.8 GHz and delivers graphics performance up to four times that of the U8500 and is sampling H2 2011.

i keep reading on this forum that sony ericsson will be using ST-Ericsson chips in their forthcoming phones but has there been any official announcement?
every phone SE has announced this year uses snapdragon. do we have any kind of proof that this will change in the future? |
