Here is something to discuss. There is rumor that Sony might use Intel’s 22-nm FinFET SoC in the future.
Any comments on that? |

I think it's rather probable. On the one hand Sony has had issues with Qualcomm and I would suspect Sony is on the lookout for new SoC partners, and that's where Intel comes in (as they are desperate to take a slice in the mobile SoC market).
Only question is whether those SoC will be based on X86 or RISC. |

The Xperia Z is clearly a phone, not a phablet. Unlike the Optimus G Pro, it does not feel like a phablet...
Off-Topic: Sony miraculously manages to keep PS4 leak-free. Let us not tempt providence! Touch wood!

I meant pics and/or vids in the first instance. But you’re right about the rumoured features, they’re expected to turn out true.

HTC one is already beats Xperia Z in benchmark test have look : http://lh3.ggpht.com/-zbq738Z[....]%25255B1%25255D.png?imgmax=800
Other competitor from Samsung & LG will use Snapdragon 600 processor in their Flagships.
and according to S IV benchmark test for Verzion version it score even higher than Htc one : http://lh6.ggpht.com/-E2N9gVM[....]%25255B1%25255D.png?imgmax=800

Sony made a nice turnaround with Z. Just like Apple they started to concentrate on what they are good at - customer experience when using the product. None cares what is under the hood of iPhone, iPad, or any Apple product as long as it offers seamless user experience combine with a premium look and feel of the product. Tech specs. are only good for geeks and tech-websites, but the real people care about everyday performance.
That is why Apple is sooo successful! With their one-generation-smaller screens, but top notch color reproduction and touch experience. And now Sony has made the turnaround and is hopefully going the same road. And there is plenty of room for improvement.
The Camera - Best pictures of all times? Nokia PureView, Nokia N8 and SE Satio! Why there isnt a single cameraphone around to match those? That is something i would consider progress...
Battery life - Energy recuperation is the key here. I dont need 5000mAh battery, if my phone is able to charge from solar panel on his back. With 4-5 inch screens? There is a plenty room for that. I dont care that it takes 5 hours to charge. My phone is sitting on the desk 8 hours a day.
Touchscreen - Everybody needs keys. Admit it, no matter how good a on-screen keyboard is, we still prefer keys and that haptic response. No, vibrating-on-touch will not do it, neither a bigger screen will. On-screen-navigation buttons are worst thing ever, I want real keys with a solid feel.
Materials -I believe there are other things then aluminum and glass, or? (Titanium alloys, carbon fibers... etc) And dont tell me it is expensive, they are making bike frames of carbon fibers for gods sake...
So overall I believe the next Sony phone will focus on this, not some S600 or S800 or new Intel chipset or bigger screen, or 6 GB of RAM.... if they need it inside to make it run, that is their problem, not the users...

Agree. The actual specs now reached the max, at least for about 3 years. They should work on battery tech now.

have to disagree with keyboard part.i for one prefer Sony gesture typing better than any physical keys.
also sony needs to do better with viewing angles, not that it bothers me but damn reviewers keep bashing sony for that and alot of average people care about reviews.(not me)
but you have some good points.wish sony paid more attentions to fan disccutions |

Seems like Sony will be stuck with all the no-name manufacturers (like oppo and whatnot) using s4 pro. HTC and LG will use the newer snapdragon 600 in their 1080p flagships. Sony is getting screwed by qualcomm again... |
