WS1 has been announced, but the sensor has not.
If the WS1 is using the curved sensor as sonyalpharumours states, then why hasn't Sony announced this new curved sensor in their WS1 press release or press event? There was a chinese website that had a live blog of the press event and there is a sentence with curved sensor but unknown if this was mentioned by the Sony Rep or just a comment from the website using info that the WS1 was using the curved sensor (alphasonyrumours)

It would be rather silly to have a device with a curved sensor announced but no mention of said sensor.

maybe because it means nothing to potential buyers (vain, selfie-obsessed women who don't really care about camera specs)
or
maybe because the curved sensor does not really offer any improvement in image quality.
with the kind of emphasis on the camera's sensor (the transparent rotating part), the are like emphasizing how thin the camera module has become so i suspect it really has the curved sensor. |

Same here. If this has the same sensor as the A6000/A5100 and the price is below the A5100(body only), I will definitely consider it. And defer my replacement purchase of my NEX-5R.

Sensor is aps-c sized according to SAR, which is a good sign. One issue will be the possible lack of bionzx. |

I don't know if it's a clumsy job by Sony's marketing team accidentally using a photo with the tablet in Facebook, or they did that on purpose.
