@ Vlammetje
pls let me know how successful u are with the themes. i'm interested to know if u need to include the external display in your .xml...by the way, which .xml file are u basing your v800 themes on?
@jamin/slass
understanding that yours is a trial set and that the themes might not be final, but by any chance could we get a copy/sample of the .xml?
many thanks

Lynn I posted a link to another forum yesterday. If you click it, you will find the theme we see in all v800 images and videos so far.
Jojo, if he cannot tell up anything he cannot tell us anything. Pre-release models are testing units and it is somewhat likely that the people who get them have to sign that they won't immediately tell the world every tiny detail that may not be final.

Somehow i think... the V800 unbranded version... does not really exist.. coz... as u can see.. even tho SE has a phone without the vodafone logo on its cover... the internal screen has one.. and still there is 'live' in the menu... so why cant they juz show the real unbranded one without any vodafone logo at all?? Or is there really one?? Another evidence is the letter 'V' itself... why out of the blue it has to be 'V'?? suppose its 'V'odafone?? hhmm.. my conclusion as far as this go... the unbranded version = sim-free
Yup sim-free with vodafone firmware.. vodafone really paid alot of money to customize this fone to make it theirs... either way.. the bloody DRM thing is there in V800 with or without vodafone branded.. tats wat i think when reading the user guide..
Lets dicuss.. i wanna know wat u think... n lets keep this a positive/cool thread... |

I think you need to stop worrying for a bit. It's been mentioned a number of times that Vodafone has the exclusive launch in Europe. It would NOT do the contract between Vodafone and a lot of good if true unbranded versions would surface prior to launch.
Give it some time.

Yea man...juz wish for the best... Unbranded, unbranded!! man, the phone is out but we hv to wait till nxt year.. bummer! I wonder how the system works by naming a phone... coz P series is for PDA fones... the Z series is always a flip phone.. Z200, Z500, Z600, Z1010.. and a sudden V??!! V800 hhmm... Maybe the fone is meant for u 'V'lammetje!! hahaha |

I just wonder, can the Vodafone live button on the standby screen be changed to for example a more button through a change of theme? |

It's for me
YAYAYAY!!!!
OK theme redone...... it appears to work properly as far as I can see on PC... any brave souls still willing to test... please do!
Download theme
Please provide feedback.
Theme is supposed to look like this (as posted yesterday as well)
There is no ringtone. I have no idea whether or not there will be flying dots. I left the part in the xml file and just added the colours. The file now works so the theme might as well......... I don't know if they will show or not. If they do please tell so i can have a go at removing them altogether.
If they don't please can you make a screenshot of the desktop? And one of the external screen? And all other screens?
THANKS!!!

no mate
Buttons and such are part of the firmware and cannot be altered in a theme. The theme really only changes the appearance of the button (probably excluding the red Live! button though) but not it's function.

it's like the iMate Spv thing.
They said only ORANGE would get it and it would only be orange branded but you could get it in other countries.
Hopefully the same will happen.
Then again, the vodafone branding doesn't look that bad to be honest...
simlock is what is going to annoy me. Usually the stores unlock it for 10 pounds.

it will days b4 V800 will be release.... now the next chapter of this thread begins.... questions for users with the 'actual' V800 phones... I juz wanna know the quality of video calls... cant really compare it with Z1010 as it doesnt use 1.3MP camera.. so V800 will surely provide better quality... and som1 stated that 3G today is 10times faster/better.. so hope video calls will be smooth juz like the one we've seen in sci-fi movies.... hehehe |

once some people get it we should start a 'call me on video' thread
