Totally agree with Tigershark plus if you pay that much money, those things should be there anyway. This is why I am waiting for the new Walkmans because they should have the full works and also be excellent smartphones running UIQ and having touchscreen.

From what I have been told Beibei is a Walkman handset.

I say two color samples were one of them were special.

It is not the replacement of W960. You have to wait for that device. W960 aint that old.

This is m-r g900 review...and eldar clearly states that, just within the G Series, 2008 will end with 6 models

Oh no ... I'd prefer a UIQ3.3 Smartphone without Touchscreen (even Flush type) ... less power needed for the screen, better sunlight reflection (hard with touchscreens), and adjusted navigation better than Moto Z10. Heck I'd like the same thing in a Cybershot phone, I can do without TouchFocus.

Yes but does it really mean 3 models? Like one model (G-700) with a variant (G900) with only slight differences that cater pretty close to the same market segment (focus of user) ?? This is my concern, I'd like to see 6 VERY distinct models that are not too similar in design and feature set. Lastly does it mean "announced" or shipping by end of 2008? Hmm.

But this may have quad-band & tri-band HSDPA? I like this style better. Reminds me of the z500 if only vaguely.

The Z780 is triband (at least that's what I've read), but there's an "a" version...the whitepaper mentions 3G on the "a" version, too, but I don't know if that means anything.

Ah I still like the Z770 more. Just cause of its nice metal surface and its cleaner design. I don't like the Z780's camera with the odd hexagon/cropped circle bit. I like the Z770's external screen better too. Either way I'm confused about the point of releasing two similar phones with nothing to really set them apart, not like the K750i and W800i which were aimed at different audiences. These are near identical - and that can't be good for manufacturing costs, making parts almost the same but not the same.

Could the z780 be the 3g version of the z770?(including video call cam)??
Would be similar to the k310/k320(=k310+bt).

@oddie k750 There is no video camera. Main menu is similar to W760/W980 (but without Walkman-player).

I agree. Even if the Z780 has an "a" version and the Z770 doesn't, that doesn't seem like enough justification for a whole new phone--just make a Z770a. So maybe there's something more. It is odd that two nearly identical phones would be released like this.

Maybe z780 has a built in gps receiver- that would justify the design change- wouldn't it??
