Not many people seem interested in Paris anymore. I think it looks good but the back looks like plastic while around the keypad you have some metal. Whats that all about?
Having looked at the HTC Diamond, it seems that they have really thought about the GUI so will Paris have the same UI as the G series or will it be distinctive?
Also, are there any hidden buttons next to the d-pad? Sorry to repeat but what is that mystery button next to the volume rocker for and whats that strip under the screen? |

PK, what is that button between the volume and camera for?
That button has the same icon as the "task manager" icon in the top corner of the screen on current UIQ phones (like the P1i), i.e. it will (possibly) be a shortcut button for accessing this function. On top of this, it might well be a "programmable" HW-key that you can use for whatever you like...
Else; the new pics look like the real deal, alright! I really think the tight simple design makes Paris look 'pro' in every way. Simple IS beautiful, right?! Now we can only wait for the new UIQ 3.3 GUI...

I hope it's not true! I used to Map the taskman to the sidebutton on my P990i and it was painful to access. Previous paris pics revealed a menu botton up front so probably long pressing it will invoke the taskman like how Nokia does it...i hope...
I notice a grid background of the keypad.. probably the keypad area is the speaker??
So far the images look like a plastic dummy handset that are usually displayed in our local stores

The deciding factor for me will the the frequency bands. If it's Euro triband with no "a" version in sight, I'm skipping it and going for the HTC Diamond. And because the Diamond's UI is so amazing, if Paris' UIQ isn't at least somewhat attractive, that will weigh my opinion, too. |
