I was really annoyed at how my G2 would not work properly with my new K750i. So after some experimenting and running thru some old notes, I managed to get it to work, quite normally as a headset would, except for the redialling function, which now does not work.
This workaround is something like Sooteee's solution http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=96883
but now you can use the voice dial function and answer calls using the headset as well.

I haven't got the time to streamline the workaround procedures so some of the steps might be redundant, but they were part of the steps that got my G2 to work, so do let me know if u find some of the steps redundant.

1) Turn on the power saving mode under Bluetooth in your K750i.
2) Pair the G2 with the K750i as you would a normal headset. Try activating voice dial using the G2. It should work fine.
3) Wait 1-2 mins, then try activating voice dial again using the G2. It should activate the voice dial on the phone but no signal would be sent to the G2.
4) Now turn off the G2 and wait till the K750i shows that the G2 is properly disconnected.
5) Press and hold the volume '-' button on the G2 for about 15 secs or so, till the blue light comes on. This will active the "headset" profile ONLY on the G2 (not "headset" AND "handsfree").
6) If the G2 doesn't connect to the K750i automatically, press the main button on the G2 to connect.
7) In the future, to connect your G2 to your K750i, use step 5).

It should work normally, except for the re-dialling function, which works only in Handsfree profile.

This makes me wonder if there is an issue with the K750i with the Handsfree profile since my old Jabra BT200 which works fine with the K750i supports only Headset profile. And now G2 works fine only with the Headset profile.
If anyone knows of any other brand/model headset which works fine with the K750i, pls share. thanx...

Thanks for this, finally i can use this headset with my phone. i was going to just carry on using my normal headset.

I have found that the headset disconnects at first after about 30secs to a minute, but then once connected again it doesn't disconnect. I am going to try a few more things to it but hopefully it is sorted now.

Cheers.

The screen goes white and resets if you try and voice dial while the phone is in silent mode, turn it off and try and it should (?) be ok.

had a g2 working fine on my z600, updated to k750i and no joy! It would not allow you to do voice dailing, you could hear people talking to you but you could not reply with the headset, so i sold it on ebay got most of my money back and bought a SE HBH 35 one of the early bt headets..... work fine!!

don't try and contact Bluetrek the emails keep being bounced back for some reason...

Bluetreks are awsome, small great batterylife, good sound, never had a problem until i got this phone, its crap firmware on the k750i, not the headset, now there is a work around, i will definately keep it until sony/e sort it out.

Terrible really.

Has any of you bought an Sony-ericsson headset in the meantime?

I too ditch my G2 after discovering the problems with it. Indeed it worked flawless with my T86 and T610. I believe its a problem with the bluetooth implementation (T-series has BT v1.1 and K750 has BT v1.2 AFIAK) Though v1.2 should be backwards compatible with v1.1, I believe herin lies the problem.

It's a pity the re-dail isn't implemented on the SE Akono 608 headset (I thought this was such a state-of-the-art SE headset, Oh dear)
