Just incase anyone is interested - i've succesfully managed to get the sky by mobile application working on my P990i (even though sky say it's not compatible) - it works a treat in flip closed and flip open mode and i've been able to record sky+ programs from my wonderful P990i over wifi and GPRS

Yes, I'm interested I tried before with a couple of versions but had no success - though it works fine on my K800i - any pointers would be appreciated.

Interested if there's any way of applying it to Windows Mobile (T-Mobile MDA Pro), and in fact how msmorley got it to work on a K800i as I can only seem to download the application on my K750i

@msmorley
you must already be registed so just install the java version of the sky mobile software (same version as for you K800i) and that's it...it works really well - ignore the fact it the sky website says it's not compatible - just choose another sony ericsson device (think i chose the W800i)
@dave_uk
it's a java app so there is a possibility it will work on WM devices that have Java support - after all, that's the purpose of Java - cross-platform compatibilty |

I know it should work in theory but I can't even download the app to my device, either using the Windows Installer or the .cab file.
"Service is not available for your mobile device"
is as far as I get. Same on my K800i which, I notice, like most current decent handsets, is omitted from the compatibility list on Sky's website! Is there a way I can download the application to my PC from another source and then transfer it?
TIA

I'd love to know what you guys are doing to get it to work in the P990i - on mine it just hangs on the password entry screen. As far as I can get is to enter the username, and as soon as I then highlight the password field the whole thing hangs.
I'm using the SkyMobile_SonyWithoutTv.jar version as linked to above.
When installing I think it said the version was somthing like 3.01 or something. What versions are other people running? |

@macjasp - Perhaps you could post the version or link to the version you are using on your P990i
At least I'm not alone in the app not working at all for me. |

i have to admit it did hang for me and i gave up but then (this might not work for you) i entered the password first and then went back to enter the username.
i'm also on the latest firmware..which i'm sure you guys are on.

Has anyone got the football videos to work on this? They are located in the Champions League section of the sports news. Perhaps they are in mpg format and therefore not compatible? |
