Just found this on the SE site:
Coming soon
The HPM-64 represents a perfect balance beween size, comfort and sound quality at the right price. The lightweight ergonomically correct headphones fit smoothly to rest in the front of your ear canal. And since it is a Sony Ericsson personal handsfree, easy call handling while listening to your music in high quality stereo sound is a given. A call handling button at the microphone allows you to answer calls handsfree while the music is delivered with a great bass sound from your Sony Ericsson music mobile phone.
- Great stereo sound - enjoy the music on your phone in surprisingly great bass stereo sound.
- Comfort - the classic lightweight in-ear design lets you listen to music through the HPM-64 for hours.
- 3.5 mm plug - the HPM-64 comes in two pieces, allowing you to detach the ear phones if you want to replace them with different ones, using the 3.5 mm jack.
- Design - a classic headphone design, finished in silver, that's distinctively Sony Ericsson.

Wonder if it's for phones or it's the replacement for the HPB-60. It is a HPM not a HPB...

Yeah, but the model number doesn't correspond. HPB is meant for generic phones.

They might bundle this with the next generation of low end phones to cut costs.

They look good to me, maybe they're headphones for people that prefer normal in-ear earphones. |

These would suit me, as I hate those earbud type ones.

An uncalled for mini-review:
Now I want to preface this with, I'm not an audiophile, but I know my music and I know what sounds like a cheap audio system and when it's coming from a BOSE.
These things go for 28 euros around my area. Curiously, the HPM-70 goes for only 19 euros. When I asked the lady why the 64's are more expensive, I was told because "they're new". Oh well.
I think the BASS REFLEX part worked as marketed, and I'm satisfied by the sound output. On my K800 (R1GB001), I played Broken Social Scene's Fire Eye'd Boy on full volume (equalizer set to Bass, Stero Widening switched off) and the sound is crisp; no crackling on the strong drum parts; very minimal (heck, I didn't notice any) distortion on the guitars. I'd go as far as saying I like the sound of it better than the HPM-70's except that the latter actually block out external sounds.
I have yet to try this pair with a W810; I remember back with my then W810/R1CK + HPM-70 I couldnt turn the volume up to max (equalizer NOT set to Mega Bass) because the output just gets so distorted.
Pity the mouthpiece assembly; it looks like it's made of cheap plastic.
Check out these pics. Now, I'm a veteran when it comes to telling faux, and this pair never struck me as faux until I saw the package:

I was asking, WALKMAN?!? OK, so they're HPM's (instead of HPB's), but why doesnt it have the badge in the mic assembly

Thats superb info youve given us or should i say me there. I was about to sell my k800i for a w810i. Coming across the use of a D750i/K750i/w800i/k800i already sounds like the w810i uses the same software as a w800i due to crackling distortion where they could have used the k750i/d750i software that provides zero distortion at full volume and exceptional bass with standard handsfree.
The HPM64's look awesome. Do they actually provide a better deeper bass than the hpm70's? If so I am off to buy a set of Hpm64's. |

There are a set of Sony headphones in Argos. Last time I checked they cost £70, a bit steep but i've tried them and if you have the money they are well worth it. Excellent sound quality with powerful bass. Plugs into standard 3.5mm sockets.
