Which to Buy P990i? Or wait for Nokia N95? |

Looking to hear your perspectives. Right now I have the M600i. It has great keyboard, but I kind of miss having a camera for quick pics. Also I have had trouble getting the M600i to play videos that are propperly converted - and if it does there is often a huge lag time before the video starts.
I am considering P990i or N95. Any perspectives on these?

theres really not much of a difference between p990 and m600 except the camera and the wi-fi....... so go for the n95!

I would say that too, as the p990 is considered old. Another thing to do is wait and see that SE are planning to release in their 40 new upcoming models that are due to be released next year. A new smartphone is speculated to be released. |

Well lets see.
- Nokia has another 3 more months to perfect that 5 MP camera.
- N95 will have WiFi 802.11b/g/i supporting UpNp & UMA,
- N95 will also support a built-in GPS unit with FREE country maps updated several times next year.
- N95 will have 3G+HSDPA!
- N95 will have dedicated volume buttons that your used to on SE phones.
> If you drive a car those GPS maps will be a big boon if they'll tie into traffic reports.
So P990i or N95?
I think you're going with the N95.

Hum, yes . But it IS a nokia, so that is what, hum, like -20% on the scale.....so it will end up with a bad result in my book, just like a w800 or so... |

i dont think nokia have it in them to make all those features work in harmony not to mention the impact they might make on the battery, unless they have something new up their sleeves |

No not january it is expected for april 2007 but expect it to be delayed.
I would say investing in the p990 would be a wise idea as the n95 is miles away. Also by the time n95 is out the p990 will pretty much be error free. Also when the n95 comes out expect it to be buggy. I recon it will take a few months for the n95 to be at a good capacity.
If you are urgently looking for the ultimate phone then don't wait and buy the p990 + 4gb pro duo, if you are in no rush then wait for the n95.
Hope my opinion helps |

Hi all,
Sorry to be a killjoy and i do admire your optimism but i do think its more a question of if they fix it all rather then when. Personally i would go for the N93 but then i don't like sliders nor want my GPS in my phone i prefer my own solution for this and Tom Tom 6. 3G is more than fast enough for me and so is the camera and video especially with the improvements already announced for the soon to be available firmware upgrade.

All I know is that I am absolutely amazed with P990. I had P910 for a long time and at one point I thought it has everything I need from a smartphone. Then P990 came and improvements are beyond my expectation:
- Really good 2mp camera. Now I take pictures every now (nothing is missed any more)
- Wi-fi. Maybe it is 802.11b but at my home I surf like anything (landscape), download big files and talk, writting massages etc, at the same time. It is simply a fantastic feature.
- USB mass storage. Fast transfer of files and no need for a card reader.
- Astonishing high resolution screen. To watch movies and surfing internet is a real pleasure, with all those clear collors and moves.
- I am going to buy stereo bluetooth headset, can't wait to listen music in that way (and talk since voice dailing works without failure and I like to drive a car)
- querty keyboard (one hand writting while walking is now a pleasure for me)
- editing office files in landscape mode. It is not a toy any more (as it was a bit in P910).
I can writte much more but all I want to say is that I have already waited for a long time and now it is time for me to enjoy a bit and relax because I am really satisfied with this P990 beauty.

Where do you get that misinformation from?!
Is is *expected* Q1 2007. My friend is a senior tester for Nokia multimedia division and when I spoke to him last week for he said it will be out at the end of Jan. 07.
