As we know the biggest problem with our phones is the lack of Optical Zoom, now here's a small solution to that problem.

ESATO NEWS

Putting an end to this misery is the Mobile Phone Telescope an add on lens which snaps to your camera back. It offers 6X zoom which is great for shooting landscapes and distant objects. Though it still offers manual focus taking a snap with the telescope lens on is very simple.

The Mobile Phone Telescope is available as an attachment for select Sony Ericsson phones and the Nokia N70. Both the Sony Ericsson and Nokia edition sell for $19 from Brando

Wouldn't buy it just yet. Phones are going to be spotting optical zoom soon and much better cameras than current ones. Kinda remind me of the times of the t610i and the k800i now. My t610i looks like it comes from a distant planet that's yet to develop fully when compared to the k800i's picture quality and non camera features.
It's not what you do or even how you do it but in what state of mind you do it: Dups! 2009

Hi all,
Besides the fact IMO it looks utterly ridiculous what sort of quality can you expect for $19? I think I'll stick with my 3X optical zoom for now.

lol the optical zoom in the n93 probably cost $5.. it was the R&D cost that you paid for to enable them to cram it into the barrel of a cellphone

Looks basically like it's a monocular bolted onto the phone with a plastic holder!

I've got an 8x monocular somewhere, bit of duct tape and that'll stay on just fine!

(Getting it off again might be a tad more of a problem though! )

Bet the lenses on those are pretty cheap as well. Not worth it, and you'd look like an idiot.
