HELP: Is this battery fake? |
breeder Joined: Sep 02, 2006 Posts: 30 PM |
I've just bought a Sony Ericsson BST-37 from a UK seller on eBay. However, I think the battery is fake. My main concern is the battery exploding inside my phone or something.
The original is on the left and the one I bought is on the right. First thing I noticed was the original appeared to have a steel casing but the one I bought has a silver sticker which goes all the way round. Also the batteries are different shapes - the original having rounded edges and the the new square edges. Also the original says "Made in China. Finished in China" the new one says "Made in Korea. Finished in China"
Many thank for your help!

Yeah I got both type. My wife Z610 got sticker like cover. My K800 got the metal like cover. |

Both are official, my phone came with the first one and I later purchased a spare battery which is like the second one in your picture. I must say that it was purchased from a SE authorised dealer.

My W810 is a metal look BST-37 (made in China, Finished in China) and my V600 has that other battery that looks like it's wrapped in a sticker (Made in Korea, Finished in China). It came in box so it's official.

I emailed the eBay seller and he has refunded my money by Paypal.
He said that his supplier said they were original SE batteries. They are a limited company and interestingly he hasn't removed them for sale from his eBay shop. |
