I like the idea of the screen for watching Videos or films but not TV and i think that phone hit every branch of the ugly tree on it's way, as for the colour no comment.

if the phone wont reach to the ppl, they would redesign it. you know, features are good but lacks in design.

asia was never strong in case of design, well, hard to make tasteful and elegant things without any tarditions...

I don't understand how you can pass judgement on the strength of one press pic.
Japanese tastes in design are quite different from those of Euro markets - however, that doesn't necessarily mean its bad. They probably think our handsets are quite backward in comparison to whats available over there.

i get your point, but honestly, do u think its advanced design? u could also make some drawing and launch a fone by that way. they might have some advanced features, but i also look on the design and my first thought was a sharp v902...

i havent said that the phone is bad. the features in the first post are ok but lacks in design. look at the SO703i, it has one of the best designs among the phones shown at the DoCoMo webpage.

If this particular design works and has been tested to be robust and attractive to Japanese tastes then I don't understand what more is needed.
You have a handset here with quite a large 3" BRAVIA screen viewable in landscape mode. This was probably the most appropriate form factor.
The Japanese team came up with this design because they know what is best for the Japanese consumer, so for someone from Europe to tell them this is not a good design ....... erm
Its like a Japanese person telling us the the W810i is a rubbish design for the European market before its has actually been launched.

yeah, but as mentioned before, all docomo etc look "almost " the same and the one should be blind, that eu fones are different. but one point is interesteing. when u compare w800, w700 ( the same ) w810 ( almost the same ) k750 ( bit other design ) etc so this is the sony ( japansese ) influence on ///. or the p series ( almost the same )

I remember people moaning about the R34 Nissan Skyline because of it's looks.......until they drove one, that is.......
.......and look at the forthcoming Nokia N76 - angular design isn't just for Japan this year, it seems.........
