Take it to a Servicecenter, there's a 2 year warranty if it's not broken by your fault (at least in my country ) |

Took mine back to O2 shop under warranty. Went in unbranded came back with 2 top left hand and top middle screen icons plus the internet button all connecting to O2 web site - what a mess. |

Right then guys, after much, much stress and research into trying to fix my dead k800i, I finally did it tonight. My phone had the red blinking L.E.D and I tried almost everything. The EROM needed reinstalling and no program seemed to be able to do it.
I had Wotan, DaVinci, and Kulan, all of which could not do it. However on the off chance tonight I tried them all again, and Wotan have just released an update which when I tried, fixed my phone. You have to buy a credit but its worth it. Just load up the program, take out the sim and battery of your phone making sure its fully charged, then put the battery back in without the sim. Press the start button on Wotan and then plug in the USB cable holding both the 2 and 5 keys down on your phone.
I hope this will help many of you with the same problem, I was grateful for the help and responses I got, even though I eventually sorted it myself. Any problems just ask. |

Make sure that the battery is fully charged. Do you get the red blinking L.E.D in the infra-red port?
Make sure you have downloaded the flash drivers too |

I remembered a trick my service manager taught me for when other electrical devices; computers photocopiers etc. don't work.
Shorting the live and neutral lines of the plug to dissipate any residual current.
so....
I took my battery out and using a small spoon (closest metal thing in front of me) I bridged/shorted the contacts on the phone (NOT THE BATTERY - the metal pins which connect to the battery for power)
Put the battery back in and it worked.
Maybe if someone else has their phone die on them they could try this to either confirm or rubbish the idea!
===================================
It has to be said though that I can't take any responsibility for loss or damage etc. if you do decide to try it!
Have a look at some of the photo's on my site, they can be quite good (no adult content!) |

Make sure you installed latest motherboard drivers or USB drivers (if you use PCI USB card). DO not use any other USB devices and plug the cable directly to USB port in the computer (do not use USB hub). Also took out the phone batt for 5mins first, put the batt backand try again.
Try another PC. Preferably freshly installed one. and tried it again using the above step. |
