HTC Flirts with Sony Ericsson
Taiwan based Smart Phone developer HTC is growing at the same speed as Sony Ericsson. Peter Chou, CEO HTC reveals that they would welcome talk with Sony Ericsson.
HTC (formerly Qtek) increased its sales last year with 50 per cent, which is approximately the same growth rate as Sony Ericsson's. HTC has also a long-standing relationship with Ericsson, which is a supplier of mobile platforms for HTC.
"It is difficult to define the Smart Phone market, however my judgement is that we are number two or three in the world", Peter Chou told Swedish paper DI. "We will continue to growth, but we can't predict the market share because the market is very unpredictable", Chou said.
"What would you say if Sony Ericsson would buy HTC", the DI reporter asked. "We would talk about that", Chou replied.

Wouldn't be such a bad investment for SE. As a matter of fact it would a darn good move, assuming of course SE's interested. |

I've got a feeling that if if doesn't then someone else will.

Hi all,
Most probably Microsoft! SE couldn't buy HTC their devices run windows and the conversion to UIQ would be too costly IMO.

I had a W800 before and i'm now using the MDA vario 2 from T-mobile(HTC tytn variant)
Gosh darn i'm happy i moved away form samsung and nokia.
I hope SE will buy HTC, they're practicly meant for each other. |

@Dogmann- I don't see anything wrong with SE taking over and let Htc continue with windows thereby diversifying. Personally I see it as a great move. If only...

HTC has good products, quite different from SE. They also look rather fine but it would do them good if they could improve that. SE has no competition for HTC-mobiles. |

Personally I think the SE logo would look good on some of HTC's products like the TYTN
