at least you can use 4Gb in your P990, us N95 users have to put up with 2Gb max at the moment |

i had a corrupt message when i first used a 4 gig card, but formatting on a PC first and then putting it the 990 to let the phone format it which basically puts the folder structure on sorted it. |

Hi all!
I have seen someone in Esato forum that said they used 8GB in a P990. Where are they now? I plan to get one when the price is right. |

Yeah I was really suprised, but at least I went to a good company who gave me an instant refund!
I hope your right as I would try again 4 Gig seems a lot but I have to have all the TomTom maps as my job takes me all over Europe and Scandinavia and I also like to listen to audio books & music to relax so I use up 4gb in no time

Hi I tried that as well but the PC could not format it, could be a duff card but it was a genuine sony one so I doubt it

I've used Sony ms before and they are much faultier than Sandisk produced ms (sandisk being a dedicated storage solution company).
I'm wondering, has anyone else here tried it on a P990, if so, is it really not compatible with the device? Do share your experience here because I'm definitely thinking of getting one soon, should there be some success story here. I'm sure many others are just as curious. |

Hi Ahmed,
I was amazed as well!
The company I bought mine from http://www.mymemory.co.uk tell me that now say the max size for P990i is 4Gig so mymemory have now updated their site to say max is 4Gig and refunded me all my money, It seems thay have had loads of them returned by P990i users just typical of marvelous testing program

The latest P990i whitepaper says:
Memory Stick provides a convenient way of adding storage and other functions to a wide range of devices. P990i supports Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo. A 64 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo is supplied with P990i and sizes up to 8 GB are supported.
I think your 8GB stick was a dud.
