HELP! K800i White Screen of Death - how to reflash/reset? |

I seem to have got the dreaded 'white screen of death' on my SE k800i.
If I plug in the charger, the white screen comes up. Holding down the power button to try and turn the phone on doesn't do anything apart from make the phone vibrate slightly. The only way to get rid of the WSoD is to remove the battery.
I used the SE updater to download the latest firmware for the phone, and it seemed to install ok. However, the problem hasn't gone away. I searched on the internet and various fora seem to recommend doing a "master reset", or a 'reflash' with the wotan server.
I'm not sure how to do either of these - given that I can't get into the phone menu at all, has anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
p.s. I'm with Orange, if that makes any difference. I don't want to do anything with my phone that means they won't fix it for me if I take it back to the shop... i.e. I'm not sure if they mind if you debrand the phone.

if its a flashing white screen, it will need a reflash. if its a permanent (no flashes) white screen, its probably the lcd has had it and needs to be replaced

So if it just stays white unless I take the battery out, it's the lcd gone?
Crap.
I think it might be something wrong with the phone itself, though - I've got the phone setup to be bluetooth paired with my computer, but the computer doesn't recognise it now. I also can't get into it with phone explorer, so I don't think it's just an issue with the display.
How do I reflash it?

Can you possibly try updating the EPROM using WotanServer? (Connect it holding down 2+5). |

Never mind - searched the interweb and apparently my problem was that I didn't check 'finalise'. Phew! |

Leave the battery out over nite. Maybe you get lucky.
